Sure, point taken.

However the Panthers held on to their elite players they bottomed out for.

If Eichel has his Deshaun Watson or Aaron Rodgers moment this offseason and demands our then obviously it’s a different story.

Eichel, Reinhart, Mitts, Cozens, Dahlin, Joker are part of the solution and not the problem. Surround those players with other good players, a couple of goalies that can stop a beachball, and a good coach and hope for the best

- Pegullaville

no argument here...best to remember that the sabres have the upper hand with eichel...and if drury is that intent on landing him, make the rags pay

There was a recent Twitter post series about just how many bad teams there are league wide.

There are a ton of players with playoff experience under their belt on that team as well.

The Flyers don’t have a culture issue. They have a coaching and goaltending issue.

it's a rough season...hard to come up with any definitives outside of the top teams--tampa, boston, washington, toronto, vegas, pitt, carolina, etc. are--still good and the sabres still suck

reason 2,623 why they should not sign scrubs like irwin, davidsson, eakin etc this offseason

I'd rather play prospects then crappy vets

I'm just tired of seeing the Sabres make the same mistakes over and over again.

Are they really serious about winning and icing the best possible lineup?

Trade Ristolainen and Miller for whatever they can get, even if it's just picks, as the cap relief alone is worth it.

Trade high on a player like Olofsson
, for once.

When all else fails, try fresh tactics.

You're much higher on Pittsburgh, Boston and Washington then I am.

I don't think any of those three is better then Florida.

You might be right, I don't know. There just seems to be something really wrong with that team that goes beyond coaching and goaltending.

Put Florida in the Eastern division and they're not a playoff team...

Vegas might have something to say, and Colorado if they can get healthy.

Boston was a one line team that were struggling mightily until Hall forced his way there. They may have missed the playoffs entirely if it were not for what they did at the deadline

The Isles won what 6 of 8 against the Sabres this year ? I think Florida could have done the same.

that's fine...

florida is a good team with a three-time cup winning coach, bona fide stars up-front and a stud on defense plus excellent goaltending, plain and simple...but for me, i'd take any of those three over florida...

perhaps there's an ecf would determine who is better than whom?...no biggie...opinions

You’re right, but I just don’t think it had anything to do with “culture”.

The Flyers won the Eastern Conference last year.

There were some talent drop off, poor coaching, and Hart couldn’t stop a beachball this year.

vegas, pittsburgh, minnesota and boston (all 7-2-1 at least) might argue the point that they should be in the mix as well

It took Bill Zito all of 15 minutes to surround Barkov and Huberdeau with better players than Tallon did in the span of years in Florida.

In one offseason he was able to sign Verhagee, Wennberg, Duclair, Gudas.

Trade Matheson and Scevioir for Hornqvist.

Then he put the icing on the cake at the deadline by acquiring Montour, Bennett, and signing Gusev to supplement their high end players.

With all due respect I think you’re putting the cart before the horse, surround Eichel, Dahlin, Reinhart, Mitts, Cozens, and Joker with NHL talent and the culture change will come because they will finally have a good roster

- Pegullaville

Not disputing any of that, but FL has been a talented “they’re gonna be really good this year” team since 2015. But, they always crumbled when it came to crunch time. The biggest change was adding Hornqvist and his leadership coming from a winning organization. How can you consider letting up when this guy is out there running through walls every game? The biggest change for them, even with such huge roster turnover, is their new found resilience and refusal to give up.

disagree

they probably win the division

there is a reason those three clubs have 3 of the best records in the nhl despite playing each other 8 times
