that's another lottery pick IMO
- homiedclown

Could be, but gives you a defensively sound player and a puck mover in each pair. And unleashes Dahlin.

oh...he can be blamed...and let's throw in girgensons, because...well, because...that's what we do here
- Michael Pachla

Exactly and we should be paid for the effort. On the more positive side the young kids are improving. There has been some welcomed surprises and this team is finally pointed in the right direction. Nothing major is going to happen but a few tweaks and it’s playoff time next year for sure.

The guy who plays pure defense the best on this team was drafted by Darcy Regier (McCabe).

That's burtal

- jcragcrumple

Like I said, longer runway for Dmen...we know this.
The good news is there is competition, so they can get away from gifting positions.
Borgen and Samuelson will be decent defenders, and I really like what I saw from Johnson in the
WJT20...very steady-Eddy type.

Unfortunately, the Sabres are in the in between period for another year until we see a steady injection of youts there. They need a couple short-term fixes on the left, unless they plan to live with Bryson on the 3rd pair and coach him up along the way.

And I'll reiterate the need for a 1RhD...Savard should be the target...we'll get a good look at him in action in the PO's.

Ok someone needs to start a argument, we have 2 pages and nothing yet.
Liking Caggs more and more, not the prettiest player out there, but is a good skater and does his job.

Sorry, I did eight national parks in 18 days. All of my hate was drained out by natural beauty.

I'll say this though, the designation of the Grand staircase-escalante National Monument will go down as the most important thing done during the Clinton administration. There's about a three and a half mile hike called calf Lower Creek Falls that is a combination of the Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks that is a Moment of Zen that cannot be bought. I would put it right up there with the hoodoo hike to the Queen's Garden at Bryce Canyon as the best short hike maybe in the country.

Thanks

Too soon for me to say. Stylistically Borgen makes sense

Shifting Dahlin to the right side and playing him with McCabe intrigues me (if they decide to re-sign him)

- jcragcrumple

McCabe can only be relied on for about half the season.. he is a walking injury

If he's just going to sit there on the ice like he's flipping through Teen Vogue on his bed, then yeah we gon blame him too.

That's cool Bud, unfortunately don't think my body would let me enjoy that stuff atleast the hiking, unless there's rest stations and narcotics available. Just kidding that does sound amazing.

if all you are doing is shipping out risto, and signing savard

expect another bottom 6 finish in the league unless you find the next hasek this summer

Ya? Not so sure about that.
Alot to be resolved with existing players and their contracts
-Reinhart, Ullmark, McCabe, Mitts, etc

Trades need to be made
Risto, Miller, who else?

Acquisition of players
- RW maybe 2 if Reinhart coverts to C
-1RhD and possibly a LhD
- Goalie

That merely addresses the Sabres roster...and everything changes dramatically IF Jack says he wants out.

Now consider the competition in the Atlantic next year...
Tampa
Boston
Florida
Montreal

Adams et all needs a stellar offseason just to compete...and hope the recent play of the youngins doesn't regress.

You're right, but if the Sabres let him go and he strings together a couple healthy seasons, he'll make management look silly (again).

It's a gamble. At a low AAV, it's a gamble I'd take. Evolving hockey has his projected contract at either 2 years/$2.2 per or 3 years/$3.1

2 years at $2.2m is a very good gamble imo. The upside is big and the downside is pretty minimal

Third. His injuries will let the Sabres sign him below value on ice.
