Also seems like a strange fit with Adams.

Nothing really feels like a good fit here, except that he's available.

- Lunaion

Idk. I think he’s exactly what is needed at this time.

With the emergence of 74,37,72 etc into that middle six area, and Reinhart playing well at center, this team is absolutely ready to make the playoffs with some goaltending and a healthy Eichel and subtracting Risto.

But they don’t know how to show up every game and that’s something Torts will have them doing when he first gets here.

The only time Torts had an upper echelon talented team he won the cup

Yeah, absolutely Torts can coach. He's a hell of a coach when he's on his game. But I think hes the wrong guy at the wrong time with the wrong players.
- jcragcrumple

Most our our team has short term deals.
So, some guy's may not fit torts game plan but, we have mostly short term guy's....

Except skimmer , eichel and a few others.

How do you think dahlin's game translates to torts game plan?

Remember when the fan said something about mucklers wife? Torts went into the crowd and grabbed the guy by the tie ,if I remember correctly. I think he recieved a couple game suspension....

That went along way in the lockerroom, like getting punched in the face by kevin killer... timber style

- Boss34

Other way around, they had to cut Torts' tie off because it was choking him. Well according to Rob Ray anyway.

Maybe it was two separate incidents, knowing Torts I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility.

1995-03-28 04:00:00 PDT Buffalo, N.Y. -- Buffalo Sabres coach John Muckler was suspended for three games and fined $10,000 by the NHL yesterday for allegedly slapping a fan after a March 19 loss to Tampa Bay.

Muckler, who also serves as the team's general manager, will miss home games tonight against Quebec and Thursday against Ottawa as well as Saturday's game at the New York Islanders.

* congrats on the 2nd place tie 🤝

Maybe I'm getting confused ....

***Assistant coach John Tortorella was suspended without pay for three games in early April for allegedly grabbing LoTempio during the same incident, the league said.

"I thought it was a severe penalty. Yet we respect the decision by commissioner Bettman," said Sabres president Doug Moss.

Every one i talked to fans On different message boards he doesn't trust young players and if he does He gives them the tough love approach..

That might not be good here imo

We absolutely have those players, including our last two first rounders in Quinn and Cozens. Asplund, Girgensons, Skinner, Reinhart are all guys who will go to dirty areas and score greasy goals.

I also think Mittelstadt is developing that exact type of game as well

What are the reasons, besides never being an nhl head coach before, why Granato shouldn’t get a chance?

None.
People question his short stint here and wonder if he can keep it going long term.

I like what he brings, and he seems smart enough to learn more from his own experiences...positive and negative both.
He makes in-game adjustments, and between games in back to backs.
Players seem to like him as well and play for him. An "older" vet like Sam excelled, a young player with a crisis of confidence in Mitts became a solid contributor.

There's a built-in bias against him. And there's really no concrete basis for the negativity slung his way.

He’s been pretty good. Columbus and NY were middling teams and got them into playoffs, the rangers a conference finals one year.

Had a team with talent in the Lightning and he won a cup with them. He’s a pretty damn good coach.

no there is not

yeah they struggled to win in the playoffs but they shocked tampa and burst the leafs bubble

the super stars wanted to go to greener pasture and bright lights of big city, not uncommon for small market club

management trading for laine killed this season

I'll take torts over anything we have seen behind the bench in the last 13 or so years, and that includes the last few years of ruff

Great take! Have him bring in a strong offensive minded assistant and let him roll... I enjoyed watching a Granato coached team and when’s the last time anyone could say that?

wow even Lockport math doesn't show that

we get it, you hate him

you asked for young players that thrived under torts, I listed SEVERAL

hell a third rounder, Bjorkstrand, put up 44 points in 56 games this year, his best
same for Roslovic

maybe if these millennials laid it all on the line, every shift, this wouldn't be an issue

the same can be said for the millennials on the sabres roster AKA suck sisters deux

I agree totally.
Only caveat is Jack's positioning staying or going...that drives alot of other decisions as you have posted about as well.

- IonSabres

I wonder if he will hint around that tomorrow?
