not sure 2 d men is enough
- homiedclown

savard, like you mentioned, should be their first priority as i can't think of any other ufa rhd that brings what he can bring...that takes care of the top pair with him and dahlin...

then i'd really like to see them go after mike reilly...will probably be tough as the bruins will more than likely make a strong pitch to keep him...he and joker would round out the top-four...which is pretty solid, imo

if thats what you get him for i would sign him.. but we need to have quality signings for the #7 since that person will be playing a lot
- SabresFaninIndiana

or assume McCabe is the 7th d man

agreed

is a bryson/borgen pair good enough for the bottom pair?

The way Bryson has been playing lately I’d say no.

He looks like a #7 right now.

that's what I was thinking

so you need a puck mover to pair with borgen

Ryan Murray?

That's not bad, and think Bryson Borgen could be a decent 3rd pair. Miller is not a good partner for Bryson IMO. Gotta find out what's going on with Johnson.

Murray, Merrill, Reilly all look like gold options to me.

Savard and Reilly are both in the realm of 3 years at $3.5M per for each. Reilly could be as much as $4M - $4.5M per for 4 to 5 years.

in very limited minutes, maybe...each of them is very green, prone to mistakes but limited roles would be ideal...they both have their good and bad moments, moreso the latter right now, but they seem to pick up on things pretty fast

Mentioned him awhile back, he's been able to stay healthy and turned himself around, could be another option that shouldn't break the bank.

Ryan Murray is predicted to get $4.2M per for 4 years and Merrill is either 1 year at $1.5M or 2 years at $2.4M per.

sign 'em both for three years at $4m give or take...those three years, imo, gives the entire group of youngins time to come into their own...and by youngins i'm focused on bryson, borgen, fitzgerald and johnson near term

yeah if we are going to have borgen and hopefully a savard type on the RD

a few puck movers will need to be added assuming risto is gone

I don't know if I'm worried about the 7th D.
I get your point about playing time due to I juries, but I think I'd ride with call-ups for that.

if all you are doing is shipping out risto, and signing savard

expect another bottom 6 finish in the league unless you find the next hasek this summer

the d is bad

- homiedclown

A guy like Brandon Montour would be a nice #4 puck moving d-man.........

I'm having a hard to coming up with a roster for next year.

Okposo, SKinner, Miller, Risto need to be moved somehow.

Reilly yes. I think many overrate Savard as Savard hasn't exactly been very good the past 2 seasons.

shouldn’t be an issue if they move Risto.

Murray is a good d-man

I wouldn't be interested in locking up the left side for more than 2 years.
Sabres will need some of the yute to play on ELC's, and 3 - 4 year contracts block that
IMO of course.
