sounds like Jack is prepared to sit out next season if not moved

he said many times Jack needs to look out for Jack

- homiedclown

Fine, frank him then, Sit out the next franking 4 years, ill take the 10 million in LTIR.

Sabres own his a$$, if they don't get what they want have him sit. but o=under no circumstances do you trade Jack until you get EVERYTHING you are asking for.

Unfortunately, it only works like that by the letter of the law. Reality is something totally different.

So why have a collective bargaining agreement? why even sign a contract then? if the player has all the power??

Jack will not sit out a year out of spite...... he loves the game of hockey and when he’s ready to return he will return whether that’s with the sabres or another team is up to management

Because the union has a lot of power behind the scenes. There will be pressure on the Sabres to move them. You can't absolutely force them to do so, but you can make their life miserable if they don't.

Plus, there's no way the league itself wants one of its most skilled players rotting away for multiple years.

Also, Eichel sitting on LTIR does nothing for the Sabres.

At least the prospects/players they get back for him will provide some sort of on ice impact.

Did we not learn anything from the ROR debacle? You can't blame these guys for being disgusted by management. It's foolish for fans to take that personally.

What a freaking awful day.

I don't want players that don't want to be here. Jack was never part of the solution. It is what it is

edit: the biggest lesson from the ROR trade was that he should've been the captain of the Buffalo Sabres

You don't win by trading stars away. It doesn't work. I don't care if they are all in a bad mood today. Fix the freaking problem or it will happen again. I am sure half the team doesn't want to be here.

I just listened to some of Jack's comments and did not back read. Based on what I heard, I believe the holding off on surgery discussion is telling us he is going to be traded and will be up to another team's medical staff to decide if they want Jack to have the surgery and when. If he was sticking around, then he would've had the surgery. It sounds like there is a lot of risk involved with the surgery, which is only going to hurt his trade value. Better get used to Kreider plus D'Angelo and like it.

Jack Eichel: not captain material

I was wrong about him.

- chilliard77

NOPE - Buffalo Sabres/Kim Pegula - NOT worthy of good players. This organization is a laughing stock.

I used to be annoyed to see all the Vegas jerseys in the stands. I would say to myself - "Really, why are you a fan?!?!?!?"

Now I see Sabres gear in my closet and ask myself, "really, why am I a fan?"

There is no way that Kreider is the centerpiece to a trade. I think the best we can hope for at this point is that Anaheim or L.A. would give up one of their top prospects. They've got to get this straightened out or the next one will be Dahlin.

If JD and Torts came aboard (hypothetically, of course), does that change Jack's mind?

I believe we have a better chance of winning with the return assets next year than having grumpy Jack on the roster again.

I am ready to move on from him and it sounds like he's ready to move on from Buffalo

Never said that it was. I am making a comment on an ownership. Ownership created a structure that leaves all of us as fans of the ultimate loser. Only Ownership can change it. As we have witnessed, they hold all the cards.

Maybe it was cheaper to give in to KP and let her control PSE, instead of going through a divorce, so that TP could hold on to more assets. However, it is the year/season of the SUPER RICH to get divorced. You never know.

The Sabres get to decide on his recovery path, not him.

The SABRES ARE A JOKE.

Jack should be pissed at his agent, too. At least if he was unaware of this provision in his contract.
