And even then, Texier and Foudy looked like doody this season and Jenner has regressed every year since his breakout season. You would have to add more still. - BeadyEyedDouche
Good thing Eichel just had a career season and doesn't have an attitude problem.
The proposed trade by our blogger is the basis for a possible deal. One side say it is a horrible deal, and then they propose even worse deals in response!
I appreciate Thomas' work here, but I don't want to trade for anyone from Buffalo, where it has been a black hole for NHL hockey for years, even with a great fan base that deserves much better than they have gotten. Nor do I want to give up on resigning our core players that may very well stay for a long time.
I'm certainly not interested is shoveling one of the best D-men in the league plus players, plus draft picks, to a bad team for one guy who has never come close to the playoffs, was injured most of the year, and had 2 goals in the 21 games he played. Respectfully Bullafo fans, you are over valuating your players and undervaluing the CBJ players and picks.
Along with Alex, I think the first free agent that needs signed is John Davidson.

But the deal is not possible if you have any hockey knowledge....
Horrible basis of a trade.
Buffalo has better teams with better pieces to acquire if they're looking to deal anyone.
I'll take one of your goalies for Risto if you wanna do a trade

Not just Sabres fans think it is bad. Anyone that has watched a hockey game in the last year knows it's a terrible deal.
Might as well add in cozens and hey what about kicking in Reinhardt. If weβre going to take only value and offer only a collection of slightly used mediocrity, letβs go all the way and do it right.
CBJ should make a play for Kuzy if he's actually available. Trade Domi and futures for him. Resign Laine and see what happens next year before deciding whether to blow it up or not.
As a casual observer I can tell you there is NO Way you get Eichel and Dahlin for that package.
Jones is very good and some other good assets but not nearly enough for those two players.
The rights to Laine, your lowest first rounder and a prospect added may get it done
The inevitable has come, but Torts was the best coach the CBJ ever had, and is a better coach now then when he won the Cup with Tampa in 2004 (I think).
At 62 I wonder if he will ever get a job that can get him another cup, but IMO he's done enough to be a Hall of Fame coach. I doubt he will get there, but he deserves it.
Good luck Torts, and good luck fellow CBJ fans, we are going to need it.

It really doesn't matter. Buffalo fan isn't interested in making the trade and we would have to be knocked over to even consider it. - Slump Buster
With 3 1st's in this draft, and Laine/Jones futures uncertain, you do have the pieces to make this happen (obviously not all of that packed together!!!). By all accounts the Rangers are the top landing spot, but they will have to offer some serious incentives. Only time will tell.

Jones and Elvis for Reinhart and Risto - HenryHockey
Jones is worth more than both those guys in my opinion. haha. It's so tough determining the value of Jones. No denying that any team would love to have him, but his play in his own zone was far from perfect this season, and 4 years of declining production is a small concern (tho I could easily see him in the mix for the Norris in the future). That being said, he is still worth a TON, but would need some assurance via extension before a team is willing to commit.
It's mind boggling trying to value anyone on the sabres. So many players checked out mentaly, and the tire-fire of a season has really affected their value. Is Risto a great D? Big guy that skates excellent, but he has also been one of the most heavily played guys in a losing recipe. Never a plus, and a career -163 is concerning for a 26 year old. You would expect better ppg than his 0.44 given his role and mediocre defensive play. He does need a change of scenery, but I just don't know what his trade value really is.
