If pens win this game I win $3500 off my pre season bet they would win the division! They better not let me down now haha - pens4life-66
Nice! I win $200 if they win the division. I bet both the Pens and Caps, $10 each, Pens going off at +2000 and Caps at +1800.

I wonder why Ruh is playing in place of Friedman. I don't remember Ruh playing his off side and if he fared well there.
Good thing we signed Riikola. |

Nice! Betting is the best haha
My buddy that I’m business partners with bet canes, pens, leafs and knights would win there divisions and wins just over $32,000 if they all do... has to hit all 4 or he gets nothing. Pretty much only pens left. He’s watching the game here and already nervous haha |

Christ. That's huge. I'm TERRIBLE at sports betting, so this would be a big win for me. I do too many parlays which is probably why I have a low success rate.

I mean this sounds like Janne Pesonen lol - 668710
Pesonen couldn't even stick in that league at Puustinen's age. He was 4 years older than Puustinan is now when he put up the numbers that got him a look with the Pens.
Puustinan isn't a can't miss prospect by any means. He is putting up the type of numbers in that league at that age that players who make the NHL have. So he's at least a prospect of interest. |

Probably just wanted him to get a game in case he gets in the playoffs. It's been a loooong time. |

That's good to know. I know each international league has their numbers that translate to NHL success, but I'm not familiar with that equivalent for the Finnish league.

Sweet, thanks. Hex definitely has his work cut out for him this off-season. This may sound stupid and I won't feel butt-hurt for anyone calling it stupid, but I think the Pens may need to get rid of Matheson, Pettersson and Zucker (or Tanev) to make everything work, i.e. making room for Marino's contract kicking in and raises to Rust, Teddy and ZAR .
I'm not sure how I feel about it, but...
Dumo/Letang
POJ/Marino
Riikola/Ruhwedel
Friedman/Maniscalco
We may have to hope that one or both of Poulin and Legare are ready. - Rinosaur
I have to crunch numbers at some point to see how much space they need to create.
Friedman is ahead of Riikola for certain and probably Ruhwedel. That looks scary thin going with 3 defensemen who have never been regulars. Think at minimum they need a proven LD on the second pair, and if POJ pushes him down great.

Unfortunately this is where JR really effed things up. The Pens are going to be in a no-win situation with a few areas of the roster.
This is probably the deepest the Pens will be for a long time. |

Not sure if anyone caught this but Caufield almost said (frank) Test instead of Tough Test, but caught himself. |

Haha no I was looking at Boston’s capfriendly when he was giving the pre game. Ondre kase is nearly ready to come back for Boston. They are going to be a tough out. |

I could see it in the 3rd pair, but not the second. Even if they move Pettersson and MM, I think they'd bring someone else in.
New management so harder to read. Just can't see them panicking in POJ and Riikola, two guys who haven't sniffed the NHL ice in months, as 2/3 of their left side.
I know you like Riikola, but best you can hope for is he competes for a spot with POJ. I could see him being let go to save a little space. Friedman playing either side means they don't need 8 defensemen anymore. |

Oh man, totally forgot about him. They’re getting their healthy depth back at the right time and with Hall fitting in well they will be very tough. |

I'd blame the stagnant cap more than GMJR. With a raise this year and next they'd be fine to retain most of their roster. |

They’d have to move Petts and MM because of money. Who could they bring in for $3M or less to be the 2nd pair? Paying someone close to the same wouldn’t make any sense, or they’d just keep one. |

Why does no one come out to Blind by Korn? That gets you jacked up. Seek and Destroy is used by a bunch of teams. |

What an introduction for Lagacé. ‘He’s not technically perfect but that’s just part of his game’ wtf 😂😂😂 |

I know. Pp was weak and geno with the big giveaway but otherwise they been spending most of the game in buff’s zone. I think they are really trying to pay attention to defence with Lagacé in net. |

Yeah and it’s not like BUF won’t have some pushback like they’re doing now, but I think the Pens have looked fine. Trying to play a simple game and clog things up. |
