2 coaches out so far and not a word from Ek.., - TurdFergeson
Experts had Columbus winning their division. Instead they tied for last. So Torts leaving is hardly a top story. Also possible that Ek is already digging into who might replace him. So maybe that story is still being pieced together. |

Kessel will be sad without his buddy Tocchet. He'll ask for a trade close to his hometown. Chicago is nearest - but the Blackhawks will need to clear cap space.
So, Kane goes to hometown Buffalo, pushing Eichel to hometown Boston, which moves Bergeron to hometown Montreal. That pushes Gallagher to hometown Edmonton, moving McDavid to hometown Toronto, and finally Matthews back to hometown Arizona.
Full circle and everyone's happy. Except Gaudreau... |

You'd have to be (frank)ing nuts to have though Columbus was winning that division. |

Poile Is an excellent GM and has been for quite awhile the only glaring mistake that I have seen In his tenure as Nashville's GM was hiring Hynes as coach. - Shady1962
Poile has never won a Stanley Cup during his entire tenure as GM. That's kind of the litmus test for "excellent", isn't it? |

David Poile has been an NHL GM for 37 years.
He has never won a cup. He has 1 President's trophy and his team has won their own division just 3 times.
IN 37 YEARS. |

Umm... Only if you count last year, - Squatchy
The NHL counts last year, and recognizes the Penguins 15 years streak, so why shouldn't anyone else? I mean; except for still resentful Nashville fans that is. As far as I understand, the Montreal games weren't part of the regular season schedule, so that would make them post-season games, or playoffs, or whatever you want to call it.

I can think of at least one team in the NHL with a more impressive streak . . .
Longest active playoff streaks in the big 4 North American sports:
NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins - 15 years
MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers - 8 years
NBA: Trailblazers / Raptors - 7 years
NFL: Kansas City Chiefs - 6 years
