Rathbone has looked good. Wish that OJ and Rathbone could both play in games instead of seeing Edler for absolutely no reason.
I wouldn't keep Schmidt for the left side and pay to trade away Myers.
Plus you forgot my trade for Dylan Gambrell - manvanfan
Hear you on that.
I think Schidmt is a much better defender than Myers, and Myers contract is going to drop off a cliff soon. Will pay to get rid of him. But I know you don't value Schimdt, so that's okay.
Not sure who Gambrell is? Also, have to factor in if the Canucks get a high draft pick if that kid can slot in, but that's a bit more random

You have me mistaken for a guy who doesn't know defensemen.
Schmidt value is higher than what Van paid for him. He's just not needed on the team. Not a PP guy, not a PK guy, not physical, not a #1.

lol, fair enough.
I get that. I just think being able to roll three pairings of D is better than relying on two and sheltering a third. Couple that with the Myers contract, Schmidt being able to play both right and left so can carrying more minutes with injuries, and him being the best overall D this year on a down year.. I'd rather keep him and move Myers.
I wouldn't be opposed to trading him, but I don't think it'd be worth it if the return was just a 2nd round pick.
