This year is a complete mess of a year, a schedule compressed like nothing we’ve seen before and that meant everyone was more tired both physically and mentally, I have no doubt whatsoever that he’ll be better next year.

agreed. while I think calling him a bust at this point is absurd, that doesn't mean you can't criticize his current level of play, and I'm sure he's already aware he needs to get better. it's part of the growing pains of having younger guys at the center position..

oh sure, he would have better numbers playing with better wingers.
but that's not my point.
it's what he does with the puck (whoever is on his wing), the way he drives the net (or not), the way he shoots (or not). the way he draws penalties... that doesn't depend on who his wingers are. forget the scoreboard.
