Simple. He is too slow for this league.
- Elbows15

Lots of slow guys in the league who do alright. Problem is he’s slow and he’s uncompetitive.

And I'll go all Illuminati here, I wonder how much truth there was in that report.

Toews gave an exclusive to only Dreger? No update from the club at that time, nothing from any other writer. It was a national game when he was on so how much of that was some producer insisting that we have to have some Hawk news?

Leaked by the Hawks in an effort to sell more season tickets next year. Red font.

During the U18 tournament the play by play guys were discussing this and suggested it could wind up being an AHL tournament or a junior tournament. Could we see 15 year old Connor Bedard or 16 year old Matvei Mitchkov play?
- paulr

They both just played in the U-18 and looked stellar.

We got to see a lot of the kids in this year's draft too.

The hawks are gonna get a good kid.

Strome at least shows up on the score sheet more than I would expect. He does have some hands down low. So he's not useless, but no way he's a complete player. IMO Nylander has shown zero. They both seem to be riding the coat tails of a big brother. And in Nylander's case the old man too.
- 6628

I wasn't going to fight this silly Strome war this year, here, but I am with you, he can play, can score.

If they are giving up on him, I am going to Columbus first who need a new guy there at pivot and they have lots of picks.

I like both Walstedt and Cossa as goalie prospects over Comesso- get me another first round if we are railroading Strome out of town....

Strome needs to talk to Entwistle,

It's good that they are dressing him tonight so they can showcase him and trade a 23 year old player because we are contending for a Stanley Cup next year.

Interesting article, although it isn't about Strome.

Again, why hasn't Strome done the things Entwistle has done to improve his quickness? Too dumb to know he's not quick? Too entitled? Lazy? Or maybe he did do the work and this is the result? Tell us, Uncle Dots Strome.

When a Slaggert and Slavin and a Barratt join and create havoc and turmoil for opposing defense, we are closer to the playoffs than with Strome.

Next season when inevitably injuries happen, we have depth even beyond them. Let's include Entwhistle and Hardman too.

Old White Sox advertisement I will borrow for Blackhawks: the kids are alright. At least the forwards. Among dmen prospects, those who perform half descent stick and improve small incremental steps. The others hone their game in Rockford.

Strome stayed in Chicago the summer of 2019 and worked out with Paul Goodman. This past summer, he worked out with Goodman via zoom. Maybe he has golden hands and lousy feet? But to say he is lazy and doesn’t want to put in the work sounds like an article with anonymous sources that has to have a oops sorry correction buried in the obituaries.

If the Hawks were going to trade Strome don't you think he'd be centering Kane and Cat to drive his value up? I probably think so, but maybe if everyone keeps repeating it just maybe it'll magically happen.

Still doubtful that Strome can improve his quickness skating speed, footwork by a good measure.....and if he isn't going to enthusiastically battle in puck scrums along boards, because this last point could be enough to stick around for only one more year.....then either a draft pick 2021 or another Rockford graduate will take his job

You're probably right, just wondering was Strome ever a healthy scratch last year? I don't think so, but i don't see any rush to get rid of him either, maybe magically he can find another step and get a little tougher to play against. Most Everyone says no, i say wait and see.

Probably, his skating is below average, but to say that is because he is lazy and does not train and is lazy isjust personal animus against a player instead of just accepting he is flawed.

Watching Kurashev the past 25 games I can see what Wiz has said about the concern about his work ethic, but you hear bupkis about that.

Magically happens in fairy tales. Perhaps he can find a step, perhaps not. But being tougher to play against is about heart and he seems to be missing his. Maybe Orville Tessier can find him a spot at the Mayo Clinic for a transplant?

Well, maybe Seabs's body will magically return to 28 years old, and Crow, too.

Edit - sorry, the bf beat me to the magic 8 ball.

Here is a solution for the Strome issue to keep or not (this is definitely wishful thinking but not totally out of the realm of reality):

Chicago trades Strome to move up even one or two spots. I wish first round. Second round more hopeful.

More likely Stan exposes him in the draft and the Kracken take him

Stan will protect 3 centers, Borgstrom, Toews, and Dach

Fine with me

If Bowman is hot to move up In draft, offer Zadorov to Boston whom has a late first. They get our #2. Post Expansion Draft trade.

Or Winnipeg AFTER expansion draft AND if we still have Zadorov, might trade their #2 if we give our #3. Winnipeg drafts earlier than Boston and wouldn't trade down their #1.

On the Dallas goal, Zadorov was out by the blue line, leaving the goal scorer alone on the far post. I hope this defensive system works out, but the 2nd winningest HC in NHL history is playing a zone.
