I still find it odd that he has been misused by so many coaches, someone needs to tell these guys how to use him correctly.
- Glak18

Judging by how AV misused Yandle in their time together, you knew Ghost was destined for a similar fate.

Certain coaches get it when it comes to deploying these kinds of assets. Most just don't.

I was with you up until you wanted to move on from Sanheim over Myers.

That's not a deal breaker for me for an A-list prospect.

Okay, first time writer, long time reader:

Hear me out on this before you tell me I'm nuts! I think the Defenseman we want is Ristolainen. Big Physical, right handed and I think he will mesh well with Provy. I think CF should reach out and see if Buffalo would be interested in Jake. my thought is they need someone to feed Eichel (who by the way they are not trading unless they get a kings ransom). Jake will not be able to leave for a few years since he has term and after next year his cost is much less than his Cap. This in conjunction with JVR going to Seattle, opens up the forwards and help out the D. I would move either Ghost or Sanheim. Maybe send Sanheim back to Calgary for Johnny Hockey. I believe the Flyers need a few players who play with an edge. Sanheim has size but no edge IMO. Okay I will send and read.

The only way Buffalo would take on Voracek if either Skinner or Okposo comes the other way. For the Flyers to take that deal they would need a sweetner from Buffalo. Far as I am concerned Okposo is an absolutely no go. As for Skinner, that's a really tough sell. Maybe the Flyers think he can rebound, but *cringe* doubt it since his career has been up and down the whole time. Now Risto added would make it interesting, but then the Flyers would need to add another piece. If it happened the trade would end up being kind of complicated.

Overall I would like Risto on the Flyers, but I doubt Voracek is a piece that gets him.

Flyers need to start hiring coaches that get it because the last 4 don't seem to.

I would move on from Ghost and Myers before I move on from Sanhiem. I agree with you that this team needs more players with speed and play with an edge, but that's not Johnny Hockey; with his small size even if he had an edge no one would notice!

you are referring to his prior 2 years while being injury prone? I think we are better looking at just this past year.

I am afraid of what Sanheim will cost and I think arbitration may not go well, plus the whole soft thing. Also looking at the Right and left shots, we have more lefties in the system and have to move on from some of them. I'm not sure Myers can get us much right now either. But either way Jake for Ristolainen makes a lot of sense to me.

How on Earth can you say Ghost has been misuse this year? He plays 20 minutes or so a night, QB's the PP and does a poor job of it, he can' play defense, does not hit anyone, has no size or physicality in his game, cannot cover the slot and turns the puck over constantly. I just feel sometimes people fall in love with their own players and fail to see the reality of things. Ghost was waived because he is not that good, and certainly not earning his current contract; 30 other teams in the league agreed with the Flyers by not claiming him.

I'm looking for the edge more on Defense and Johnny Hockey to replace Jakes Points. Plus we need players who know what the Crest used to stand for and I think he understands that.

There's been a bit of a disconnect between myself and the organization. It's been tough at times. Right now, for me, the most important thing is just trying to get healthy, figure out a way to be available to play hockey next year, wherever that might be."

Why would the Sabres want Jake and his contract when they are already strapped by Skinner's and Okposo's contracts?

I'm looking at his whole career, but then there's that nagging 2 year injury. He did have a breathtaking rookie year followed by that dreadful sophomore slump.

"Listen, my No. 1 interest is Jack Eichel, you know what I mean? You gotta look after yourself. You gotta look after what's best for yourself," he said. "The organization has a similar job to do, which is to look out for what's best for the Buffalo Sabres. It's tough. Things haven't been, I guess, really black and white. We're all trying to educate ourselves in this situation and what would be best moving forward. There's been some tough conversations. But I have to do what's best for me. I'm only going to play hockey for so long. I'm 24 years old. Hopefully I have many more good years in this amazing game left. But I have to take care of myself. It's been tough at times. But I'll come out on the other end of it."

I really like Ristolainen. Think he would be a great fit. That said he’s still not the 1A/1B guy we need. I’d be all for adding him. But they gotta add more with him too.

Yeah I discount year 1, then next 2 years become the injury excuse, which made this season important. He stayed healthy, was part of a bad team but played well enough for what he is suppose to bring.

I guess I am just not a Gaudreau fan. He certainly has speed and skill which I think this Flyers team needs, but he is small and is not a playoff performer. I would prefer speed with size, grit, and leadership.

I’d offer them Coots and TK for Eichel and Ristolainen.

I can agree with this. Risto would be a nice add, a...much better Gudas, but like Gudas he has his downfalls as well.

Keep in mind Eichel has a few injuries and if he is traded this offseason probably won't be ready for the coming season. He will insist on getting the neck surgery.

He doesn’t need to be Seth Jones, he just needs to fit well with Provy. Niskanen was not a huge name. Hell, people on here were pissed we got him.

The trading for Gaudreau would be silly....he doesn't play in the defensive zone, just like Jake and you'd be losing size. The only good aspect would be contract duration, although I would bet an extension would be signed. Just more of the same. I fear that Fletcher will look to pick up Gaudreau though, along with Matt Dumba, who he's familiar with already, and it will be at the expense of the youth.

AV kept telling him to shoot the puck as hard as he can then either miss the net or hit an opposing player.
