Doesn't matter who they face between Montreal or Winnipeg, Leafs will be the heavy favorite in this series.

There's not much argument about the Jets being able to turn things around in a week to overcome them imo.

Montreal has one glimmer of hope imo. They will get a much needed rest after a completely insane schedule the past month and a half and should get a rested Price and Weber ready for the playoffs?

And if Price plays like he did last playoffs, anything is possible.

Will it be enough? Odds are it won't.

But the hope remains.

- Scabeh

Extinguish all hope! There are no weaknesses in to the Death Star. Ok, there’s this one small design flaw where some subcontractor cut a few corners but it’s in really deep and unless you know exactly where to look nobody knows where we’ve hidden our goalies.

But after that: News Flash... the teams you play in the conference finals and stanley cup finals are PRETTY GOOD TEAMS

thats my favorite part, laughing at the Leafs because they would have to play a good team in the conf finals...getting to the conf finals...something they havent done in 20 years.

haha leafs fans...only 3 rounds of playoffs hockey...losers

Yup, Leafs would 4:1 chances I guess to win a series.
However, if Habs would take the first game - you bet some in the Leafs organization would instantly get nervous..

People here in Toronto forget how magical those semi runs were - especially 1993.

Oh God, we had fun.

Unfortunately, it won't be the same this year due to restrictions, but you'd better franking believe I'll still take it.

Is Weber going to be ready?

I thought I saw a headline on TV that he skated yesterday, but still couldn't take a shot.

Was that what I read?

1998-2004 (6 seasons) - 13 rounds of playoff hockey
2005-2020 (15 seasons) - 4 rounds of playoff hockey

its about time and I dont care how it happens

Both teams have guys who've been injured or banged up who will play meaningful or critical roles. If Weber, Gallagher and Price can get to the top of their game, it will be a boost for the Habs. If Weber coming back means that Merrill is not playing, that will be a benefit for the Habs. I am stunned at how bad Merrill is. No one is glad Mete is gone now! If Nash, Hyman, Foligno and honestly Andersen can get back to game shape, Toronto will get a big lift and a nice style shift in the bottom-6 that they haven't enjoyed all season as well the necessary insurance if Campbell falters.

I liked how Montreal played when they were at the top of their game - now I'll grant that was under Julien. There was a dynamicism to the lines. Whether it was a fast forecheck or a physical forecheck or trying to fill the neutral zone, there was a style that was trying to maximize the effectiveness of each line. I felt they were a bit too much of a counterpunching team under Julien, but it was a team that was effectively built to do that. I still don't know what their style IS under Ducharme - but they are only in the playoffs because of what Julien did in the first 18 games.

Obviously Price can get hot and can be world class. Aside from my obvious biases, I'm not betting on it no matter who Montreal plays. To me the two most important factors are Gallagher - because he's such a great a-hole in front of the opponent's net, and Weber - because he's such a great a-hole in front of his own net. I don't think it'll be a sweep by any stretch, but I don't think Montreal wins.

Game. On.

If Price is ready.

He's in net.

100%.

Allen did great all year.

But he's no playoffs Carey Price.

cool...and creepy.

story time.. i was walking in the ocean, maybe just below waist deep water. I stepped on something..felt smooth, maybe a rock..wasnt sure..seemed out of place in the soft sand. so i reached down to pick it up, trying to keep my head out of the water..while I felt over the top to find an edge or something to pick it up... pulled it out of the water..and at the time had no idea wtf it was...brown shell...flipped it over and see all sorts of legs and poop...my wife was standing behind me..she bolted out of the water

anyways..it was a horseshoe crab..which i found out later in the day when I asked someone. but when you dont know..it looks like a (frank)ing alien creature on the underside

Doesn't matter.

This series is 100% about the Leafs. If they decide to put in the effort necessary in the playoffs, and their goaltending is not abysmal. they win, Price or no Price.

nobody will take the Habs to win this, they are burned out, disorganized and limping into the playoffs. If the Leafs don't win this best of 7 in 3, it's a complete failure.

From 1998 - 2003 I lived at Queen's Quay / York & Yonge & Queen's Quay. My walk to and from work took me past the ACC (through the concourse when it was cold and not a game day!). The energy in those days was palpable. You could literally feel the emotional thrum of the crowd just walking by in the playoffs. They didn't have the outdoor viewing screen setup back then, which I was never a part of - but that was probably a bigger and more insane crowd-rush.

I heard he had Bauer insert steel rods into his sticks to make sure those cross checks really hurt.

oh, just for entertainment purposes, it would be a glorious moment. Won't happen....but the amount of people getting banned would be spectacular. EK/EO will have to call in reinforcements to police this thread
