Feels like one of those situations where every non Leaf/Hab fan is looking at this series as a lock for the Leafs.
Kinda how I see VG and the Canes as a lock. As a fan its hard...but this is a lopsided series in terms of talent, readiness, health, and one team is going in with a hot streak and the other isnt. - Santo_44
I have a sick feeling in my stomach about this. |

I think it takes a bigger proportion in Quebec because of the differences between Quebec and the rest of Canada.
I'm all for trying to get local talent when it makes sense. Hence why I didn't have a problem with the Drouin trade when it happened despite loving Sergachev as a prospect. It was an opportunity to get a former 3rd overall local guy who was only 21 at the team and coming off a 53 points season.
The kind of opportunity that's hard to say no to.
Now obviously that trade is the worst Bergevin has ever done but I get why he did it. - Scabeh

It's crazy to think we have the following players currently on the shelf but will be joining the team soon(ish):
Zach Hyman
Nick Foligno
Frederick Andersen
Riley Nash
That's pretty ridiculous. Keefe is going to have quite the lineup puzzle to figure out.
- mjones242
Is Nash really that good? His #’s the last few years don’t look it on natural stat trick. |

Why do I expect Marincin to pop out of the top of that box. Take it away

He's a bottom 6 guy with experience.
But you most likely have better options than him.

He's a good depth guy: very solid defensively and gritty. Admittedly, he's a black hole on offence but I think we don't need him to contribute on that end of the ice.
Not sure if he kills penalties with any regularity but it would be helpful if he did.
He's going to be rusty and I'm not sure how quick he'll be able to adjust, but another tool in the tool belt who has a bit of playoff experience is always a good thing. |

As long as he doesn’t play instead of Petan.

Yup. This has all of the signs of epic upset.
If Price dials into the Price of years past and the Habs are able to bully the (frank) out of Leafs with impunity this could be a rough ride.
Expecting the worst but hoping for the best is the way I'm heading into this. |

Quebec vs the rest of Canada
There is defensively more pride and pressure to keep that Quebec mentality alive. |

Guys like Nash were the reason the Leafs had trouble scoring last playoffs.
They are just so (frank)ing boring but they somehow shut you down. |
