A healthier #leafs roster comes with a new look at practice:
Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Foligno-Tavares-Nylander
Kerfoot-Nash-Mikheyev
Thornton-Spezza-Simmonds
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Hutton-Dermott
Campbell
Andersen
Extras: Galchenyuk, Engvall, Sandin, Hollowell, Rittich - Atomic Wedgie

And that hurts me to say it.

Well at least i'll have one prediction right in the Leafs prediction thread!

nobody will take the Habs to win this, they are burned out, disorganized and limping into the playoffs. If the Leafs don't win this best of 7 in 3, it's a complete failure. - Symba007

I could see Hyman moving back down the the 3rd line to face the likes of McD or others if the line listed at practice canât get it done.
Nothing better than a healthy Hyman. - Woderwick
Foligno gives you pretty much the same shutdown capacity but Hyman offence gives you more on the top line. Move Gally back onto the second. |

The way I see it, if Wedgies line up is legit first game starters, the difference between the guys sitting out and the guys theyâd replace is minimal. If the Leafs go deep in the playoffs, all of these guys are going to play. Whatâs different than other years... we probably wonât notice, and if we do, there could be a good chance it will be due to one of them standing out in a good way. I like this depth a lot.
They have injuries, exhaustion, loss of confidence, and personal slumps covered....I hope. Keefe can keep the boys hungry, even through the playoffs. |

Lots of options for sure, but a third line who can shut a top line down by playing in the offensive zone and chip in on the score sheet can win games. That top line is going to be good regardless. Itâs a matter of match ups. |

I don't like that 4th line at all. Even for 7 minutes / night, that's a bad 7 minutes.

Heâll get time. How the frank can Nash be up to game speed so quickly. Bet heâs in a game, out a game, at least till he gets his legs back - then performance will rule. |

I dunno about that. No doubt they have a mix of younger options available if it doesnât work. No lineup is forever.
Do we see this âplayoff rosterâ the last 2 games, or do they protect a couple key guys? |

Sandin goes in and Gally goes with one of Kerfoot or Mik coming out. Gally onto second line and Foligno onto third - Canada Cup
I really see Foligno in a top 6 role on this team. I think the limited minutes of the 3rd line is pointless.

This is an okay line. I think it will be fine for game or 2 then might see things change up. Just need Simmonds to kick some ass in game 1 or 2 to set the tone.

Might be the slowest line in the league.
Unless the Habs decide to go with a Perry-Staal-Armia line to counter it.

I think Keefe/Dubas have a mix of goals - whatever cap machinations needed, try different combos, rest and keep an eye on seedings for future rounds |

Spezza can still get around the ice.
Thornton is...uh...challenged.
Simmonds looks like he's wearing snowshoes out there. |

Iâm a simple guy and I know how you kids love your acronyms. To me, Hyman is better than Foligno so I want him playing more minutes. I think having potentially the best line in hockey operating full out when checking gets tough is worth a lot and Hyman helps with that. You can accomplish that without really losing any real defensive capacity.
Foligno will also score and if youâre worried about scoring, relace Mik. |
