I think Harvey-Pinard and Teasdale have a chance to join the team eventually in a bottom 6 role.

you can always count on Leclerc to write something intelligent.
that being said, Habs drafted 9 local kids in the past 10 years. none currently on the team.

If you win/have success. It's the best place on earth to play hockey.

If you don't do your job and the team is losing, it can easily turn to hell.

It would be interesting to take the consensus scout rankings for who is the best player available at the habs selection ie you go down the projected list and take the highest available ranked player with the Habs pick and then compare it to who they got.

Yes!

A Timmins vs a green plant picking the highest ranked player on the list would be amazing.

I'm sure the plant would give him a run for his money.

they played during a time where there were more quebecers though in MTL and across the league, so the spotlight wasn't on them as much. also, with social media it's a completely different ball game

drafting is the easiest thing to evaluate, compared to the team performance. the team can have injuries, a tough schedule, a surprising oppnent within the division... multiple reasons why they do well or not.
the draft, it's simple. years later you go back and evaluate if the players you picked succeeded. if players still on the board and that you missed did better. if the list you made prior to the draft was actually good, considering the development of said players.... very easy to evaluate if you were good or not.
and like I said before, MB should be fired just for keeping Timmins around. for that alone.

let's say this agreement does exist, it exists between 2 parties. and in any agreement, both parties have to hold up their end of the bargain. Staal's end of the bargain was that he agree to come AND contribute something. he has not held up his part of the bargain.

if i agree to buy 50 feet of composite flooring from old man pete and he only delivers me 30 feet, i'm not paying him for 50 feet. even though i promised i would. i'm not letting him fleece me like a shepherd without a spooling rod.

Also, money was not as much of a thing as it is today, advantages of playing elsewhere with less tax burden also plays a part into it.

I am sure Damphouse was more than happy with making $4-6 million playing in San Jose, rather than Montreal.
