I don’t have time to argue. If you believe Canada is based on what they did or didn’t know, it’s sad that an entire country would be so far behind the curb but in reality it always comes down to money. I can count on one hand on how many people are vaccinated, here is a real option.
- SuperSchennBros

Canada is way ahead of Germany in vaccinations. Germany is richer. The UK is way ahead of Germany too. Germany is way richer than the UK. Israel is much poorer than all of these countries, and yet is far, far ahead of them all.

I know very few people over 40 who are not vaccinated or like in my case have been given one shot, waiting for #2. I will agree it’s very sad that we aren’t being vaccinated as quick, but all I have to do is look at a country like India, who actually produces the vaccine I got is in a lot worse shape. Things were really slow until around April 20th....things have started to get a bit better now...not perfect....but that’s why we are still in a stay at home order.

Fletcher and Vigneualt saying lack of practice time and players from Canada struggled due to lack of training and ice time were big factors in the results.

had lunch with a business partner from Canada, I forget the population amount but they had like 5 cases a day and were completely shut down, handing out fines if you were out.

Ontario was up to 4,500 a day about three weeks ago. That’s what led to the stay at home order....closed golf courses, restaurants (dine in) and my kids are doing at home learning. Today I think we are down to under 3000 new cases a day....some people are revolting....it’s a drag. I miss travelling. Word is the stay at home will last till early June....nothing official yet.

no idea, I think he said like 700K population, just paying people to stay home. His opinion was that they are doing it to get universal income, something they have wanted and see this is a way to get it. Second hand info and just his opinion...

It is amazing how many of you discuss his shortcomings without a single word about his cost. Lets say he comes off the cap. You slot in a guy like Andreoff or Bunnaman there with that salary savings. You certainly dont get much more point production. You get more dependable 2 way play. At the cost of a much lower ceiling down the line.

Whatever it is, it matters very little to the club's fortunes. If I had to list 20 reasons why this roster is a poster child for gallant mediocrity, NP would rank about 15.

- PT21

Really? In that case, I'd love to see your top 14 reasons. Anytime a team gets the #2 overall pick in a pretty loaded draft, and their selection ends up being a bust thus far after 3 years, that would be a major blow to any organization. Yes there are a ton of other issues with this roster, but NoPa not panning out, or contributing anything for that matter, is a serious reason for why this team is where it's at

Yeah but we didn’t tank that season and have nothing to show for it. We were GIFTED that second pick.

Alleged hearsay at best. Reported by whom? Who said it?

Anyway, he's clearly a moveable piece. We shall see how it unfolds.

- Scoob

Yes, its all conjecture at this point. But its conceivable that NoPa would welcome a change of scenery. Afterall as we can see on this forum alone, it will be hard to NoPa to shake the bust label given where we was drafted unless he has a Couts like season.

I don't think you understand trade value. He has a lot of trade value for a team that sees a high ceiling at a low cost in this flat cap era. Especially since he is young and has talent. No one knew what was going to happen to him this year.

Here is how I see it...media has done a great job of hyping up cancer and done almost zero on mental health over the past 2-3 decades...no one is making a comment on Oskar's contribution to this season...why is that? Why is NoPa the whipping boy and not both of them? This TEAM failed this year...it took little parts from each player (and coaches) and they are all to blame...very few times on the ice did I see a TEAM playing out there...they need to reset and get ready for the Trial on the Isle, or whatever they are going to do to support one another and play like a team...it has been a while since they did that...I would just play "the shift" over and over until they get it...or maybe the Mighty Ducks movies...whatever works to get them all on the same page.

Because Oscar has been progressing as a player every season since he's joined the flyers which are reflected by his stats. Then he got cancer and fell on a fell off a cliff. I wonder why.. NP on the other hand has two 30 points season, got migrains and OL still beat him in points with no powerplay time. At face value, there's your answer.

Very true, look at the down stream impact it has had. For example it forced Fletcher to go out and sign Hayes to a ridiculous contract just to solidify a 2nd line center role.

Apparently the Flyers are the only team in the NHL with a lot of Canadian players that need a lot of practice to play well. Hmmmmm ... What a joke excuse!

I wish they would have just came out and said we didn't play well. Acting like they were the only team playing in the midst of a pandemic comes off as an excuse.

As Bill reminded us the other day, Oskar lost a lot of weight and muscle, and then he got Covid after he came back to boot. Depite that, he's shown flashes of his old form this season.

Not really surprising. They don't do much right these days, why should the exit press conference be any different?

Yup. The fact that he hasn't lived up to the pre-draft hype is disappointing. The fact that he's pretty much been a complete disaster has had enormous ramifications on this roster

So am I understanding the Eichel/Buffalo situation correctly in that he wants the neck surgery but the team doesn’t want him to get it and since he’s under contract it’s up to them?

Doesn’t the Flyers org have some of the best MDs in the league? Can’t we send him a brochure showing just how well we take care of our own? Could be a selling point if he’s that concerned with it.

Flyers should obtain him, let him get healthy on his terms and we may get rewarded for it.

Haven't the Flyers already gone thru that before... superstar team Captain that has a rift with team medical staff and turns it into a public circus?

Just make sure that brochure leaves out the part about misdiagnosing Lindros' collapsed lung, and trying to push him back in to the lineup after he was "medically cleared" following his 17th concussion.
