True, I will gladly settle for a couple more years of mediocrity in the name of going for it if it means watching sutter single handedly destroy Francis’ career. - RedC21

I don’t agree but that’s a fair opinion, in this draft it might not even matter if you’re picking 1-3.
From what I’ve researched there seems to be a top tier of about 8 players followed by a tier of 4 or 5. If you’re at 9 you have a decent chance of collecting one of the top 8 if someone goes a little off the board (ie Buffalo taking Quinn over Rossi/perfetti last year). Also being lower gives you more control over getting the player you want vs getting whoever the guys ahead of you pick, something that is a good thing to have in any draft. - RedC21
Don’t agree. The draft rankings are so different that if you’ve done your homework properly picking 8th instead of 12th could be huge.
I’m hoping we get the lowest pick possible.
Yeah, I agree on these points as well, you want control and you want to position yourself for the best player possible. In a draft like this one, teams are going to be basing their pick on pretty limited information. You look at a guy like Raty who was, a year or two ago thought to be a slam dunk top 5 guy and now he's outside the top 10 (and way outside on some boards, but was #10 in CS mid season rankings). And that's based on 35 games this year. That kind of a player could still blossom into a premier forward.
And yeah, I see the point around the draft tiers. Basically goes Power - then 2-8 in some order of
Edvinsson
Hughes
Clarke
Beniers
Guenther
Eklund
Johnson (as low as 13 on Button and Dreger boards)
I just think it matters less. Tre is as likely to draft a Bolduc as he is a Beniers at the end of the day, so whether he's 5 or 12, he's gonna take the guy he wants. This is also the season where teams have far less information to go by than in most seasons and someone is going to look like a genius while someone looks like a fool - not unlike a lot of drafts |

Sutts, Ras, Johnny, Gio.... the shared hate of Francis might be the biggest bonding ingredient in that room right now

I think I read on reddit that one of Francis's parents was a big wig in a media company. He is such a pretentious douche.

I agree, part of my bias too may also be that I’m really high on Chaz Lucius in that 9-12 range. Projected top 5 at the start of the year, fell because he missed most of the season with an injury and covid scouting probably didn’t help. I don’t think he’s going to slip underneath many team’s noses, especially considering the lack of C at the top end of the draft.
Wallstadt is also a big X-factor as well as some places have him listed in the top 10.
Lastly I’ll leave this as a hot take, power may go 1st but Hughes, Clarke and edvinsson will wind up as better players

I don't recall ever being as disappointed with a team as I have been of the Flames this year. I have zero interest in watching the core leadership (Backlund, Giordano and Monahan in particular) "compete" for the cup next year. I would like to see all 3 of them shipped out this offseason. They weren't able to get it done here and I don't think they deserve another kick at the can (same bullpoop every year--never play 3 periods consecutively).
Treliving should be on a very short leash next year (if he's not fired this offseason). The Flames should empty the vault to get Eichel out of Buffalo (trade anyone other than Tkachuk and Lindholm to get it done.
I usually don't miss a Flames game if I can help it, but I literally chose watching Jays' spring training games over watching this teams pathetic stretch drive.

And 2 penalties, one likely to get him either a fine or suspension. Take the bad with the good.

Super undisciplined penalties that cost Florida the game. Always felt he had the right kind of game you can win with but the hockey IQ just isnt there. |

Clearly had revenge on his mind for the elbow on Barkov... but just dumb stuff. Go fight Coleman. Don't crush the guy from behind going 30 km/h. Brutal.

Still doesn’t make it a good trade. Let’s see what kind of return he produces. |

I watched the first period of the game last night. They almost blew the lead, at least Van got a point.
Read an article discussing how Tkachuk would be a better target for the Rags than Eichel, as Eichel cost too much $$$.
Would much rather trade JG.

At least Dutter didn’t play Markstrom again. Guess we’ll see him tomorrow. Here’s hoping he doesn’t pop his groin! |

Was hoping to see phillips and maybe Philp. Not sure i see the point of seeing Simon or Nordstrom. Ruzicka had a nice assist today though. |
