I do believe that, coaching is what is the downfall of this team, not an excuse, but a fact. - Makita
I'd say Benning has done a lot better pickin and devloping young talent than Green has done coaching. But at the end of last year, didn't see much of Drfitwood or this general hate for both.

It was the stand up comic on CTV, Marke something. - Marwood
the most canuck like off season would be:
1) extend green;
2) fire jb;
3) hire weisbrod.
that would be uber-canuck! |

you missed the point but i'm not surprised. all good. - RealityChecker
No, I didn't. I just wanted to make a statement saying that I can be wrong and will whole heartedly admit if I am.
I make a list because it's become a bit of a hobby. You guys like to make fun of it, I am fine with that. |

Mind hunter was outstanding too bad no third season.
We thought the same on Jack Ryan as well 1st season very good and second season we couldn't get through it. - LordHumungous
Thats funny I thought the second season was way better |

Ideally, it makes sense to fire both Green and Benning at the same time. If results do not improve next season, you have given coach extension and are bringing in a new GM that will want their own coach the same way Drury has done in New York. |

I think Weisbrod or Ryan Johnson will be the next GM.

you mock people/writers/scouts who have different lists than you. i've read you use the term "wannabe scout" several times.
and when someone makes criticism against a gm or makes player personnel suggestions, you mock them as "armchair gms."
you can mock others as wannabes but at least acknowledge you are doing the exact same thing. so you're an armchair scout as much as the collective we are armchair gms. my point is that it's all the same so your condescension is quite ironic alanis. |

I know green gets a ton of hate in here (I personally would like change at the coaching position as well) but If I had to rank the order of people who I want gone, it would be
Benning
Weisbrod
Newell brown
Baumgartner
Green |

weisbrod is just lol.
RyJo is definitely good young talent but he's still a few years away which obviously means that he'll be the next hire!
he's going to be a good gm but it would be better if he worked under somebody as an AGM for a few years.
if it was me making the decisions, i would look to hire someone as a president of hockey operations. re-organize the front staff if you want but his mission should be to instill a new culture into this team.
ideally, you tell him you want him to bring in a number 2 guy (he has to at least interview RyJo) that will succeed him as GM in a couple years and allow him to be pres. full time.
we've discussed this a few times so the names would be older established guys.
anyway, dare to dream. |

I did call Faber "a wannabe scout" after 3 days apart moving a player up and down his list. It was a joke. That was once and unless you can provide a link to another time, I will admit to using it more than once.
I like to mock people as I am mocked myself for things I view as well. Again, I'm okay with it, I don't lose sleep. A lot of rash things are said on here in the moment. I have been apart of that also.
Good job right now trying to pretend like I don't know that things work both ways. |

that can be used as an argument for anything.
you said covid right after coaching.
anyway, excuses, justifications, reasons, facts... 7 years and i'm tired of it. - RealityChecker
I wholeheartedly agree, time to move on from both so we can begin criticizing the new coach and GM. |

i'm glad we agree. there's still some out there who keep seeing the same thing happen everyday and think, "it'll be better tomorrow." |

How was JB to know he'd float once he signed his deal and run into legal issues? - VanHockeyGuy
He has had issues with effort on the ice a lot throughout his career, showed nothing in the bubble playoffs. He has had lots of off ice issues in the past showing bad character.
The question is: How is anyone surprised by him continuing to float and now having legal issues? |

I wrote him off as a player and asset before the legal issues.

Petey out the rest of the year, he will have played less than half of this shortened season. Not sure how that impacts his next contract.
Rathbone out and juolevi in is an odd move. Let the kids play and take out edler or Myers. |

Too good not to share
- VanHockeyGuy
Honest assessment and gross miscalculation by management. The JV debacle further stains it. Tryamkin handling shows same pattern.
Green has no extension likely because FA is looking at cleaning house. But like the last purge the replacements won't be liked either by those inclined to hate.
Either way, in a stepback season, one even the haters saw coming, there are pieces here to be competitive.
A lot depends on off season moves and if they are the wrong ones then the Canucks will be on the Sabers path and not the Avs one. |

Should be Edler.
It’s embarrassing that Juolevi and Rathbone have to share time.
Edlers season should be DONE. End of story, finished.

I guess from a respect standpoint, maybe green giving edler what could be his last few games as a canuck. But I agree, edler should come out and the kids should be playing these remaining games |
