Huge overreaction by Dolan but I'm not surprised everything he touches turns to poop, I hope Dolan hires Messier It will be fun to watch the wheels fall off quickly.

Players didn’t like Quinn. This was in the works for a bit

I'm not sure he's the perfect option, but Boudreau makes a hell of a lot of sense. Wins a lot of games and can take a team to the next level. His teams typically have an edge to their game, too. Just has a difficult time winning in the playoffs...

We can't take that chance, time to focus on another Center, I say we make Florida na offer they can't pass up and it includes Kakko, for Barkov I'll drive Kakko to Florida
- KreiderBomb

A trade for Barkov will have to start with Miller, Buch, Chytil and a 1st.

If they were smart they'd be going after Rikard Gronborg, but NYC is a pretty tough gig for your first NHL head coaching role.

Is this Dolan believing that the Rangers can turn on a switch similar to the Knicks?

Are there similarities from the Knicks and Ranger situations?

yes to the first question and no to the second. Also, on this whole knicks resurgence topic. The knicks record is barely better than the rangers was this year. Apples to oranges i know but it was way easier for the knicks to make the playoffs than the rangers

I figure the board wouldn't like this one, but I think a coach like Boudreau would work pretty good with this roster.

I know he has a reputation of being a playoff choker, but I'd say in Washington he never had great goaltending, and the Ducks were timed with some pretty strong teams in the West.

Not even close, Knicks hadnt won a playoff series since Dolan became owner, and havent been in the playoffs for like 20 years.

Gorton deserves another job imo. Quickly also. How he built this team so fast is pretty impressive, getting fired or not

Never miss them, Jan

Big believer in the patients strategy. BB would be the next step in building a winning culture. Not sure he would take us to the promise land, but in the evolution to become a Stanley Cup champion Boudreau can play a key role. Not to mention, at his age (66) he might only be looking for a 3-4 year gig.

I really like the Ranger pieces and hope they are not going to give up some of their talented young players in a rush to make the playoffs next year. Getting into the playoffs should be pretty easy for this talent base. But winning a Stanley Cup may take a bit more time and patience and you don't want to give up too much to bring in vets.

Is Eichel an answer? He is a pretty soft player. It seems to me the Rangers needs something different than another high end skill player.

If I am Buffalo, I offer a package deal to JD, Gorton and Quinn. I also ask them to begin negotiations to deal Eichel to the Rangers.

lot of people on twitter surprised by Jacques Martin being fired and I don't get why, a new coach should have the absolute call on their assistant coaches.

Hiring a new coach and forcing an assistant on them is starting dysfunctionally from Day 1

Clean slate

except Allaire of course, lifetime job for good reasons

I don't think the Rangers are going to make any drastic changes except for a center. They won't trade for Eichel if the ask absurd. They will address the toughness to the 4th line issue and a veteran defenseman
