it's between him and Staal IMO - Symba007
KK was playing some good playoff hockey in the bubble not so long ago, maybe they'll be expecting him to get his poop together after a week off

Yup. - Scabeh
my mind is still blown over Edmundson's +28. i don't even understand it.
closest D to him is Petry at +6. Jon Merrill -11 in 13 games. Chiarot somehow posted a -16 in 40 games. |

If Kotkaniemi sits for Staal then MB and Timmins need to go. DD needs to do what he thinks will win but three years in if Kotkaniemi is sitting, that should be the death knell for MB and Timmins |

he was playing with confidence in the bubble and for a guy like that confidence = hard physical play. he was sure with the puck too. with no confidence now he's very passive an un-engaged. needs a fresh start. and i don't mean a new team. just a new season. |

he might just be banged up and tired, a week of rest will help some of them, hopefully he is one of those |

well him sitting or not doesn't change where he is in his development. so if they need to go, they need to go. don't think him sitting out game 1 or not should affect that. |

Yeah, I'm not sure 1 week off is going to be enough for him.
But if the habs are to stand a chance, we need him to play at his best.

Him sitting is an indictment of the pick. Him sitting is an indictment of the Staal trade. Timmins falls for A along with his history, MB for a combo of A and B along with his history |

I honestly would be fine with Bergevin staying.
But Timmins has to go.

You know Staal is going to play, no doubt : he a veteran, they traded for him bla ba bla
Tatal Danault, Gallagher
Toffoli Suzuki Anderson
Byron Evans Lekh
Perry Staal Armia
Then, on va passer proche, mais perdre les 2 1ere game, then they will wake up and enter Caufield but it will be too late
Thats my prediction
I would remove Staal and Armia, at least KK can skate and he good at stealing pucks and intercepting passes and well Coco
Edit : or perhaps Tatar is still hurt |

ill keep saying this too... it completely depends on what they want to do in this series. if they're going to more or less park the bus and play very conservative hockey, i don't see a problem with starting Staal over KK. but if they plan to play with a bit more pace and aggression, then KK is your better option to start. |

The latter is worse than the former, agreed. MB is responsible for Timmins though, so they both should fall in my eyes |

Timmins is a head scracther, along with the rest of the player dev apparatus. there is not a single impact player on this roster drafted & developed by this organization in Marc Bergevin's tenure. closest thing would be Caufield. he of 9 NHL games.
but there's one guy who's kept that apparatus in place for 9 years.

Considering I don't think the Habs can win the cup.
This series should be all about giving experience to our young players.
Just like last year.

So if the agreement exists and that's why Kotkaniemi sits, that's on MB and he needs to own it. There are also other players who can sit. My point is that if your 3rd overall pick, after 3 seasons is a healthy scratch for a vet that should never have been traded for in the first place, agreement or not, MB needs to be accountable for it |

Evans is the main one and it's more often than not low impact |

maybe but it won't be. their goal in this series is to make it as competitive as possible. Ducharme is coaching for his future here. can't expect him to prioritize experience over competitiveness when he doesn't even know if he'll be part of this organization in a month. |

yeah impact generally refers to top-6 production, top-4 D minutes, starting goalie... |
