I remember them saying he can score goals and he’s not just a passing threat anymore. I don’t remember people saying he’s better than OV at it though. Crosby did play 9 more games then OV and beat him by one goal remember. I’m not saying McDavid couldn’t win a rocket but he’s not a better goal scorer than Matthews and can’t just decide he’s going to be, I don’t think

Maybe look into stats because Matthews is a much better goal scorer then McDavid. Matthews would have had easily 50 last year and this year had the seasons been full. McDavid had 33 in 56, Matthews has 41 in 51, a much higher goals per game rate. Also maybe if Matthews looked to pass more instead of shooting everything he’d have 50 more assists, if’s and buts eh!

There is zero Matthews vs. McDavid debate, in any category, and it is very unfair to Matthews to keep making this comparison. I don't even think he's at Draisaitl's level (who is a MUCH better goal scorer btw). Maybe Ryan Nugent Hopkins is a closer comparison to Matthews.
