Petey officially out the rest of the year, and they've confirmed it's a wrist injury. Have to imagine it was bugging him quite a bit and that could have to do with his lower than average play early in the season. - NorthNuck
Carol Schram: Does the Travis Green uncertainty mean Jim Benning's job is in jeopardy?
With the Vancouver Canucks now playing out the string and still no news on Travis Green's job situation, it's worth wondering whether the issue is that Jim Benning doesn't have the authority to sign his coach to a new deal. Also, Mikey DiPietro heads to Worlds, where Podkolzin's also expected to play. - Carol Schram
No it doesn’t. Just wishful thinking from the impatient idiots of this fanbase
The haters have been celebrating all season long the Canuck misfortunes into a drunken stupor. They'll recover in time to hit the next regime with faulty takes and fallacies.
The reality is despite on ice performance challenges, dismissed as excuses by hate, Canuck management has been a day late and dollar short on moves. The word is out and the axe is coming.
Looking through PR Twitter, it seems it has been Rathbone, Lind, Graovac, and Michaelis. They're super thin at C with Sutter, Beags, and EP out. When they recalled Michaelis, they still had an outside chance at the playoffs, so I can't completely blame them for that.
And, just like Lockwood and Gadj, they probably wanted to see what they had in Micahelis and Graovac, and had them pegged a little higher up the "playable" list.
Edit: Can't even find Michaelis, it looks like it might have been Breisbios that was the other recall - NewYorkNuck
I think Brisebois got sent to Utica before TDL.
Again, another example of little to no foresight by Benning, knowing he has injury prone centres in Elias, Beagle and Sutter and doesn't have at least 1 spare centre like Graovac on the 23 man roster.
Piss-poor managing.

Agree with the first point, completely lost me at the 2nd point.
People cried about Marky and yet Demko has clearly proven that they made the right choice.
They cried about Tanev too and yet Schmidt/Rathbone are faster and better puck movers. The Flames have been worse with those 2 guys than they were last year without them.
They cried about losing slow skating Toffoli and yet he’s been replaced with the younger, faster and cheaper Hoglander.
They cry about drafting yet the team has an exciting rookie on the lineup every year and the streak will continue next year with Pod.

Tanev has been really good for them, it's the rest of the team that's poop. His WAR is in the top 10 in the league for Dmen this year

Canucks have won 17 playoff rounds in 49 years, SJ Sharks have won 20 playoff rounds in 28 years and Anaheim Ducks have won 16 playoff rounds in 26 years.
It must be great owning a team in Canada, you don't have to put a winner on the ice to make money.

Just think after the two years Benning needs how many playoff rounds they'll win.

I would hang him a little for not recognizing that Tanev not only had value as Tanev, but that Hughes would be much worse without him as well. He was the perfect partner for the kid to continue to grow his game.
Other than that, as an outside perspective from someone who has had some doozies in the GM department on my team, I don't understand the level of hate from the Van fans. Not to say it's not time to maybe move on from him, but only because he had just been OK.
Edler is the longest serving Canuck, among the best defenders the team has ever had, and we’re going to bench him so the fans can see five more games of Boner or Joe Levi?
Remember, he’s still playing for another contract (here or elsewhere). If the team sat him I’d be pretty pissed.
