With Quinn gone, it's inconceivable we protect Howden over Gauthier. Even if we are just protecting Gauthier to trade him later. Plus having Barron makes Howden completely expendable - ELew11
having Barron makes both Gauthier and Howden expendable
Colorado cant protect Ryan Graves, we should consider making a deal for him, it's kinda senseless to protect Hajek - jimbro83
I like it a lot. Not sure why Colorado wouldn’t make a deal like this. Send them Hajek to expose with a pick and prospect. Wonder how much it would take.

I don't think they'd be interested in acquiring a guy that'd have to protect but yeah I think it's something to consider
I am light years away from being a Wilson sympathizer, let alone a supporter, but I think he glided long enough that he's ok on that one. A lot of that result is because he's also a real big dud(e).

if I saw him skating at me at 30 MPH's I think i'd poop my pants
if Buchnevich gets traded yes it definitely changes things up
but that could also mean Chytil moves to RW to replace Buch and they work on that elusive center - jimbro83
Genuine question...Buchnevich finally seems to be developing into a pretty solid winger, why all the trade talk? Is it just to get a center in the door by dealing from a position of strength?
Based on what it seems like Dolan's mindset is, it looks (from the outside looking in) that it might possibly make more sense to deal one or two of the good prospects and some other futures to grab someone and keep as much of the roster intact as possible.

it's the Kreider contract, people don't wanna do it again
if Kakko and Kravstov become better than Buchnevich, it'll be same situation we are in now with Panarin and Lafreniere better than Kreider

A lot of people here believe that Buch is in line for north of $5M per year on his next deal and want to move him for the cost controlled kids.
I feel like he will be a member of the Covid Club that sees a real hit to their contract due to the flat cap.

I've asked the same question here multiple times. Answer is always, "his value will never be higher"
He will only cost around 5M per. He's developed into a 200 ft. player and he has found some nastiness in his game.
