I am planning to smoke my first brisket this summer. I made pastrami 2 years ago from a piece of the flat and it came out amazing. It sucks that brisket is so expensive where I am.

Funny thing is that people assume there will be consistency because the name is the same. When my wife was up north for teachers college, a bunch of her classmates came down for a weekend and stayed at my place. I tried and tried to dissuade them from breakfast at Denny's. They lost their minds... This is Niagara Falls! Where you can find the most expensive outlet of pretty much EVERY chain. Probably places where it's double what you'd pay elsewhere.

It was insane. The hotel we stayed at gave us ihop coupons and it was still too much to consider eating there.

Our breakfast spot every day of our stay was blueline diner. It was like 10-15 minutes from the hotel and very worth it.
