So am I!!!!!!!!
Are you saying you're not familiar with The Tragically Hip???
Icons of my generation in Canada. Lead singer died of brain cancer in 2017.
This new release is 6 songs from way back when they exploded on the Canadian music scene in the early 90's. HUGE!! - Tonybere
Is that the band they were referring to? I do know them and it was definitely sad about Gord, I remember Twitter (at least the Canadians that I follow) blowing up about it.
I will respectfully not share my opinion of their music though

I fully expect that someone who didn't grow up in Canada at roughly the same time as the Hip would listen, and based solely on the music, find it to be in the realm of ok.
They mean a lot to many of the people who grew up with them, though.
Caps overpaid for Mantha just to lose in the first round? Yikes - TPC
I dont understand the trade because the supposed reason they traded Vrana was because he was due a new contract and were worried about cost. However, Mantha is making 5.7m which is probably on par with what Vrana probably would have gotten. Peculiar move.
I know I’m a little late to the Kakko talk, but I think he’s developing into a very good 3 zone player that will put up 65-70 points a season. The amount his overall game improved this year was tremendous regardless of the lack of scoring. The scoring will come with time but he’s developing everything he needs to be a solid top 6 player in this league.

I see him as 50-60pt guy, 25/25 kinda stats, I see him being one of those guys that becomes part of the defensive core of the team.
What Id like to see out of him is a bit more assertiveness and physicality.
It's really hard to make any predictions on what the kids will do next year because we are getting a whole new coaching staff with a different system, some roster changes, and hopefully a normal pre season. But I don't see any of that hurting them in any way

Of course it is, but you can usually tell which players have the hockey IQ.
However also, the unfortunate reality is, we may never see how good a player can be until paired with the right coach and combination of players. This doesnt just go for our guys, it goes for every player in the league.

Could’ve just signed Vrana to a 3 year deal and kept their 1st this year and 2nd round pick next year. The trade is a bit of a head scratcher. - nyrangers9479
Mantha is bigger, stronger and plays more of a "playoff" hockey type of game than Vrana. Caps wanted to load up for one more Cup run, so they made the deal. Looks like a terrible decision if they go out in the 1st round, but we shall see...

Would we be ok with Tortorella in NY in a management position? - aecliptic
I am not sure why this report is making the rounds and being repeated in multiple places. Torts has ZERO front office/executive management experience. To think that he will simply get a high level job with an NHL team is presumptuous and silly.
Just as certain people can't coach or play, Torts will have to prove he belongs in the executive offices first. Perhaps he starts with a minor league team?
