Id do that in a heartbeat!!

Sabre's would want to add KK and another first rounder too!!

I think the sticking point would be they would want a center with a higher ceiling than Chytil, which we dont have.

Im still very against this trade because of the cervical spine herniation that theyre hoping heals without surgical intervention.

How is Robertson doing, is he progressing as anticipated
- Buff36

Robertson has been good. All their defensive prospects for the most part are at or above expectations. That being said I rather not trade for Eichel. Pre injury I was more onboard, but now not so much

Well anyone should want this to heal with therapy, and we will now shortly if that has worked.

I would love to somehow have them take Jones over Nils or Braden. Would even sweeten the deal with another pick
- nyrangers2

That would be the dream but just unlikely

Doesn't surprise me, Eichel kinda F@cked us with what he did the other day. Understand your frustrated, but he didn't need to bring the medical stuff out like that.

This is why hes fukin Buff. Any time a big name player wants out and trade happens that team will lose the trade. Its simple. Leverage is lost by then. Also with his NMC kicking in Buff rather move him now when they have more options

Think everyone knows we will lose a trade if it happens. I just hope the sum of the parts coming back helps make us a better overall team.

My concern with him, where ever he ends up is the future. The check that put him out looked like such an average, common hit, not some devastating boarding penalty. Makes me wonder if he could always be one check away from disaster

One thing is for sure, Buffalo will not be able to trade him over the summer, nobody will be dumb enough to trade for him if he is still rehabbing.

They wont be able to trade him until he is skating and putting up points again and at the very earliest it wont be until Thanksgiving if his rehab goes well.

Well I don't think that is true, guess it all depends on how comfortable a team is with his medical's.

We aren't talking about a UFA that you just sign to a contact, this is a player you have to give up a group of assets for and has a 10M cap hit. Personally, I would not touch him until I saw him playing again

Being familiar with this type of medical condition, I can tell you one thing for sure... Physical therapy and a conservative approach doesnt fix the problem, only makes it tolerable to deal with.

Yep. Played for 15 years. Over the last 5 years have 3 herniated discs in my lower back. Still work out 4/5 days a week but the back isn’t the same. Never will be. Surgery doesn’t guarantees anything either

Yeah I am pretty familiar to, and yes it can work. I had fusion surgery 10yrs ago. And then had a herniated disc about 5yrs ago and went the therapy route and it worked. Does it mean it will in his case NO, but it can.

The difference is, maybe he does the therapy and hes good enough to play. What happens when an a-hole like Wilson lays him out and his neck takes a nice whiplash motion. Theres no way that he doesnt reaggravate it.

It would suck to lose Nils or Braden but you got to give to get. A lot of reports are saying Buffalo doesn’t want to trade him to the Rangers. So we may have to overpay compared to other teams
- TPC

Then let them trade him elsewhere for less...

The exercise is whats saving your back and keeping you off the operating room table.

Once you have back/spine surgery there is no turning back, you will never be the same.

Yeah it could happen, unfortunately even if he has the surgery it could still happen. It's just like any other injury, always a chance of reinjuring it. It will always be the unknown.

Which is why I have 0 desire to trade for Eichel because the injury risk is quite high.

I don't really blame you. That is why I was so pissed when Eichel did that on Monday, that didn't need to be out there until more is known about how his therapy went. I get he's frustrated, but he basically dry F@cked the Sabres.

This is another reason why Im not interested in him. I dont want this attitude on the team. He seems like someone that could get toxic in the locker room if things arent going his way.

Yup I go to PT twice a month, used to go twice a week for month. Changed my entire routine after the disc injuries. Thought about stem cell but not proven yet
