Dolan may be the tipping point. I'm sure Drury will tell him that they shouldn't trade player X or player y, but Eichel may just be too tempting.
Who knows? Time will tell. Sabres may not even trade him. - Powerslave
First time GM's have the tendency to go hard after who they want to fit their vision. Jack's the type of player who seems to fit what he and Grier would really want. And Jack's a true No. 1 too.

Schneider would be an option. I liked hertl or Monahan but not sure they would be available. If they keep buch he prob gets $6-7m - nyrangers2
You're right in the ballpark as Evolving Hockey predicts the next deal for Buchnevich is $6.4M per for 5 years.
The 5 year deals make sense as it allows the cap to become unfrozen and the player to get another pay day when they turn 30. |

I don’t care if the rangers got him or not. I’m just looking at past trades with these caliber players. Hope it works out for you guys. The franchise needs it - nyrangers2
When was a 24 yo Top 7 C traded who plays at a 1.2 pt/gm pace, with 55% CF and is improving his 49.7% FO%?
Christ, he hasn't even entered his prime yet. Aw |

Carolina, Minnesota, Anaheim could be intriguing trade partners for Eichel as well.
Apart from the Kings and Rangers that we’ve been speculating about. - Pegullaville

Chytil had 22 points in 42 games as a third line C (all points coming at even strength).
I’d say he’s a much safer bet than Gus in 2015.
If Chytil doesn’t get hurt and miss time he is probably considered one of their untouchables. - Pegullaville
So a quality 2nd line Center would be untouchable in a trade for a true top line elite Center? Are we living in an alternate dimension or reality? |

Players are one thing, but no prospect is untouchable in a Jack Eichel trade. As soon as a GM says a prospect is untouchable, hang up. You don't get to have untouchable prospects in an Eichel trade |

and if he played 20 games next season, and says I want out and only go to boston
the return would be slightly better then what we got for hall IMO - homiedclown
Or,
Other teams could realize that it is their last chance to get him and up their offer...of course, if he returns to normal. |

The reality is, we are going to be disappointed in the return we get for Eichel.
If you were a GM, would you trade a boatload for a player who needs surgery who can decide his own fate the next offseason ?
Whose to say Jack says Frank you to the team thag acquired him this offseason and still weasels his way to New York or Boston ?
Ever consider that ? |

I just don’t like not getting a center back... it puts us too weak down the middle. Zegras or Byfield... |

reason 12,532 to move him this summer
he could play a full season in 2021-22 and then when the next season comes up, and he has a NMC, the one team he would accept the trade to could use that against leverage
I would rather have 31 teams competing for him and hoping a few overlook it vs 1 or 2 teams and they insist on using it as leverage - homiedclown
His NMC doesn't hit until July 1st
You let him play the whole season, prove he is healthy and dominate again and if he still wants out you move him at the draft when more teams are able to make the move for him.

Idk if I’m Jack Eichel and I have my heart set out on playing in Boston or New York in 14 months I’d have no problem telling Rob Blake or Bill Guerin that even if they trade for me this offseason.
Eichel has all the leverage due to his NMC. |

What's he going to do, hold out on his next team? Not going to happen.
And it's not like he's involved in the process of trading him. He's not going to say anything to anyone until after he's traded. |

Before the locker cleanout interviews, I was on the keep Jack and Sam, trade Risto.
Now, I'm full on-board with trading all three plus others in packages.
Package 1
Eichel
Olofsson.
Sell the '19-'20 season of combined ~150pt pace over 82, Jacks monster possession metrics, and their impact on the PP. Also, Jack at 1.0pt/Gm pace this season with multiple short-term nagging injuries. STUD.
I'd expect back 5 solid assets, which vary according to the team. Anaheim I'm alright with a 1st Rd draft pick as it should remain a lottery pick. Rangers, Kings etc...not so much, need existing A-level prospects, draft picks expected to be mid-20's or worse.
Package 2
Reinhart
Miller
Sell Sam's increased production, possession metrics and conversion to 1C in which he did quite nicely. Could be a solid 2C, or 1RW with 65 pts over 82, while excellent on PP in front down low. Miller is steady eddy as 3RhD who can play physical, has a booming shot to contribute on 2nd PP.
I'd expect back a serious A Prospect and solid middle 6 roster player who is young.
Package 3
Risto
Thompson
Sell gritty, offensive, PP Dman coupled with power F coming into his own and ready to leverage his very nice production under Granato.
A goaltender could be a target...Arizona Maybe? An upgrade to RW also.
I'm ready for the Rebuild IV! |

1st - You mean in 5 years?
2nd - Nope. No need to. That can happen with (counts on fingers 31 x 21)...well, alot of players.
