R2D2 replaces him on an ELC and us 3 years younger.
W/o Jack, 50 % of his goals and points vanish from the PP
He is a PP specialist with Jack gifting him wide open nets, w 3rd line production at EV
At soon to be 26 yo, I believe he largely is what he is...nothing wrong with that.
I'm counting on some GM being sold on Jack and Olo as a package that produced at 155pts / 82 ('19-'20) as what they'll get..therefore be willing to pay a high premium for it.

This post makes much more sense, but there is room for olo in this rebuild.
Are you sure you've seen everything olo has to offer?
Seems like his 5 x 5 points were much much better, after that was his "problem ".
His effort at times bothers me .... 2nd leading scorer makes up for some of it |

Would they do
Jack
Olofsson retain 50%
Thomas
4
Rossi
Fiala
Dumba
Boldy
Khovanov - IonSabres
Unless Adam’s is a wizard I would say probably not. I think the ballpark with olofsson included would mean dropping Rossi and Fiala but adding a B prospect plus 1 or 2 of their firsts this year + a first next year. The wild will also probably have to send Rask the other way to make the cap work just for eichel in that scenario which doesn’t leave them with room for olofsson.
If you wanted to include olofsson you could probably get them to send greenway or Hartman(unlikely as he just resigned) but that would seem counterproductive.
If you guys really want to move olofsson I’d call up Edmonton. Mcdavid’s more of a playmaker than eichel is so they may overpay a bit if they think he can pot 30 alongside him.

If he can be included in a deal with Jack that makes it a better deal for us, then it should happen. |

Pretty much.
He’s a guy you add when you have the rest of the pieces of the puzzle as an accessory piece.
His PP skill is definitely something a contending team could use. |

Yes, now do everyone else on the Sabres except sam.
This season was a complete sh!t show, but olo still was 2nd in scoring and 1st in assists.
I like the guy, like the story .....
Don't let ionlightning convince you olo is expendable ☝️ |

Name a player that you shouldn't trade that "makes the deal better for us".
I'd trade the entire team if it really made us better.

I think we have seen 90%+ of what he has to offer, so yes.
He enjoyed unbelieveable success his first 10 games, all from the PP when teams hadn't seen him before. Since then, his production has fallen off and he is a 3rd liner at 5v5...that is relatively easy to get.
At soon to be 26, does he warrant sticking around for what seems most likely to be a rebuild for 2 more seasons before they are pretty competitive. At 28 what is he?
Strictly IMO, the #1, #2, and #3 goals for Adams is to maximize the return on Jack...Olo just might be a piece to do that...I think it does when positioned properly. |

Well written and I see your points.
Just think olo could be a solid scoring 3rd line player and pp guy. Why elsewhere? Why do the Sabres not need that exact player?
Maybe actually have a 3rd line that isnt a 4th line or 5th line on most nhl teams?
I like the guy, I think you can build around him as a 7th forward at 3 million and the team controlled contract situation.
Curious uncle ion, what draft pick value would you apply to olo? |
