Just think olo could be a solid scoring 3rd line player and pp guy. Why elsewhere? Why do the Sabres not need that exact player?

Maybe actually have a 3rd line that isnt a 4th line or 5th line on most nhl teams?

I like the guy, I think you can build around him as a 7th forward at 3 million and the team controlled contract situation.

Olofsson, to me, is the modern day equivalent of a JP Dumont or Ales Kotalik.

Yeah, he'll get his goal or he'll get his assist, and he'll "wow" you with the one incredible skill he has (provided he can get open to utilize it). But the rest of the game, where is he?

Move on, if you can upgrade for less (and I think R2D2 can provide that, cheaply).

Anything less than 8 x $8 with a full NMC and he'll simply take his arb award and walk next year. If he's really set on leaving, even that won't get it done

We already passed on Rossi in the draft. Why would we want him now?

Unless Adam’s is a wizard I would say probably not. I think the ballpark with olofsson included would mean dropping Rossi and Fiala but adding a B prospect plus 1 or 2 of their firsts this year + a first next year. The wild will also probably have to send Rask the other way to make the cap work just for eichel in that scenario which doesn’t leave them with room for olofsson.

If you wanted to include olofsson you could probably get them to send greenway or Hartman(unlikely as he just resigned) but that would seem counterproductive.

If you guys really want to move olofsson I’d call up Edmonton. Mcdavid’s more of a playmaker than eichel is so they may overpay a bit if they think he can pot 30 alongside him.

Isn't the goal for the Wild to win now over the next 2 or 3 seasons though.
Eichel and Olofsson produced at a 155 pt pace over 82gms in '19-'20)
Does Boldy supplant Kril, Fiala, Greenway or Praise (they can't move him) in that span? The LW is decent for a couple years...and/or Oloffson slides right in on 3LW behind Kril and Greenway..should make Boldy expendable
Olofsson, however could play on the RW with his shot (he played there as well overseas), and therefore fits in nicely as 2RW if he plays there
Thomas fits in great as their 3RW..soon to push for 2nd...his game has finally turned around.

Lastly, when acquiring a Top 5/7, #1 Franchise Center, I have a hard time accepting B Prospects and Draft choices in the mid/late 20' as the main components...those picks hold low value in a trade scenario but could be used by Minn to restock their prospect pool...
so, IMO it has to be A-level only.
The Wild NEED Jack and this trade for the here and now.

Sabres need Fiala and their 2 best Prospects in Rossi and Boldy to restock, Dumba helps fill a need although at $6m for a 2RhD already filled on the Sabres it is a concession to take him to help the financials. If the Wild need to ship off Rask, the Sabres can handle that for 1 year to make it work...
$10m out and $13.4 in.
If the Wild need a 2RW, the Sabres could also provide Colin Miller ... maybe hold 50% there too...but need something in return.

Some good games on today. That Vegas vs Wild should be a good series. Wild handled Vegas pretty good during the regular season. I am really looking forward to that Florida vs Tampa game tonight, that should be a really good series.
