How do you entice him to stay for more than one year?
Anything less than 8 x $8 with a full NMC and he'll simply take his arb award and walk next year. If he's really set on leaving, even that won't get it done - jcragcrumple
What Evidence Can Be Presented
The evidence that can be used in arbitration cases includes:
The player's "overall performance" including statistics in all previous seasons
Injuries, illnesses, and the number of games played
The player's length of service with the team and in the NHL
The player's "overall contribution" to the team's success or failure
The player's "special qualities of leadership or public appeal"
The performance and salary of any player believed to be comparable to the player in the dispute

Maybe Kim can reach out to Boss and he can tell the autograph story at the arbitration and save her 500 k

What are you signing Olofsson for after this coming season when he's an RFA for one more season before becoming a UFA? - kingcong39
I'm probably giving him 4 x 4- 4.5ish million.
Solid 50-60 point guy in the prime of his career.
1/2 skimmers contract value and length
Imo he's a top 7 forward. No reason to think he's going to be worse moving forward. Guy scores points, points are. Needed to succeed.

Me thinks if Ullmark had been 100% healthy, he would've been asked by Sweden, and would've declined.
The look on his face, seeing his boy again, was priceless. - Powerslave
It has to have been hard on these guys. Especially the season the Sabres had. |

Well written and I see your points.
Just think olo could be a solid scoring 3rd line player and pp guy. Why elsewhere? Why do the Sabres not need that exact player?
Maybe actually have a 3rd line that isnt a 4th line or 5th line on most nhl teams?
I like the guy, I think you can build around him as a 7th forward at 3 million and the team controlled contract situation.
Curious uncle ion, what draft pick value would you apply to olo? - Boss34
Interesting question..haven't thought about it one iota.
His production at 0.65 pt/gm is pretty good...a 1st half rounder
Age 26 and 3rd liner play at 5v5 drops that down significantly
Guessing it's a 2nd??? |

Not saying they did, but it has been a rough year for most these players, maybe they just want down time and a chance to be with family. - Buff36
I'm sure caggiula chose to spend time with the family, instead of staying relevant in his profession.
Maybe he's looking for some down time, 4 teams in 2 years is pretty tiresome I imagine? ☝️ |

Well of course we as Sabres fans have dealt with crap for a decade, but this season had stank written all over it. |

if skunk signs a long term extension, I will buy him an autographed puck and take one for the team - homiedclown
There a very solid chance that when Jack is traded, KA could resign him longer term to be the 1C.
I think he is a placeholder there though...the question is, does that move then cause the Sabres to be searching for an upgrade there forever...is Beniers, Mitts or Cozens a real 1C? |

My ?, do we need a true 1C if we have 3 2C getting 40 to 60pts |

His reputation around the league and in the locker room is entirely different then you're attempting to portray above. - kingcong39
Makes sense, take his league wide reputation as bible, but someone who has had close personal friends interact with the guy......
You saw some of it, with his exit interview.
Local media wide reputation- bratty |

On the upper end of that point spectrum, yes, but the Bruins have had a nice decade and a half of, on average, 55-65 point centers leading the way. |
