Set to play his 1st #NHL game tonight, Jonah Gadjovich will be 7th player to make his regular season debut with #Canucks in 2021 .

That will bring the total to 36 players who have appeared in games for
@Canucks
this year:

23 forwards
11 defensemen
2 goalies

I always get a kick out of people who claim scheduling etc as being advantageous for a team, without being aware that that team also had games postponed and compressed into an even tighter schedule.

Yeah how did he do in 2019? You're proving you're ignoring competitive advantages and factors.

The line to winning is razor thin. It's not so simple. That said change in stewardship can have positive effects to repurpose a team. It's coming for the Canucks.

- NuckUp

So just so I'm clear, we give Travis green and Jim Benning 4 and 7 years respectively to build a competitive team (and fail), but you come down on Zito and quenville for their 1st and 2nd years at their jobs?

I'm not ignoring "competitive advantages" and "factors". I don't get what that means. That just seems like excuses for losing to me.

This team needs change

The 3 young left side D for the Canucks have different attributes. Hopefully sooner or later they are all allowed to grow.
- manvanfan

Like to see all 3 in a game before season ends. Can Edler get his 100th and retire already...

Hoglander 26 points in 53 games.

9 points in 98 games from Juolevi, MacEwen, Rathbone, Chatfield, Rafferty, Michaelis, Lind, Brisebois.

Those are all the "rookies" that have played for Van this year. Clearly a few in the growth and development stages still. Might be a year or two away.

Looks like Minny no better than the 20/21 Nucks lol

Minny on pace to give up 45+ shots. Not going to win many playoff games going that.

Hmm, what other team, in an oh, I don’t know, “bubble playoff” looked to give up shots like that?

I predict the Canucks to sweep the 3 game series against the Flames, which puts them in 10th worst spot. With Seattle slotted in at 3rd pick, making the Canucks with the 11th best odds and the Canucks dropping the 2 positions from the lottery, Canucks will be picking 13th.

As you ignore the bold above to mistake my points. Your take proves you're not looking at all the factors involved. Florida had a healthy season and good schedule that they were able to take advantage of against their competition. The reverse occurred for Dallas.

As for the Canucks, change is coming and it's not because of team performance this season. That just helps to make the call. Confidence and direction are compromised. For example, JB has fumbled a lot of moves and Green was too loyal to his assistants.

Again, I'm not going to sit here and start dissecting your "competitive advantages" and "factors" and list them as anything but excuses (I still have no idea what you mean when you even list those). Just like I'm not going to make excuses for Dallas.

The teams that are in the playoffs right now are there because they deserve to be, not because of some other "power" or beneficial schedule or lack of covid19 exposures or health of its players.

The canucks are out of the playoffs cause they suck.

I was agreeing until the end. It’s extremely likely Hamilton moves, i expect him like Petro to test the market and take a big offer. Not so sure Carolina can afford him. Big target for the Kraken IMO. Don’t think we can afford him either.

A crappy start & 23 days off was a big hurdle.
Not an excuse but a sign we need more talent on D & top 6 & the bottom 6 redesigned.

I think you're right. He's easily on par with pietreangelo and Krug. No way he makes less than them on the open market.

LOL that's your opinion. It still ignores facts as excuses. I spelled it out. Other professionals brought up Covid and schedules as competitive advantages. Even for example, delays in vaccinations.

Name 1 team that had a Covid outbreak and made the playoffs?

That said, IMHO change is coming and for much more complicated reasons. It's too simple to say "Canucks suck" because they had a bad season. JB/Green are about to lose their jobs but not based on your "suckage" take.

If you separate emotion maybe frustration will fade into clarity.

Of those, only Hog, OJ, Rathbone and hoping Pod/Lind/maybe gadj will ever make a difference for the team. Considering that is all of them.... it's not many GOOD prospects lol maybe add lockwood and jasek...but long shots as well.

This is why rebuilds take so long....our best players are young. Now we need to fill in with other guys that are younger and cheaper and better than the rousell and beagles of the world.

Seems that's happening with youth auditions. UFA/trade may be required for organizational holes on RSD and Center.

Last draft was a fail. So maybe this draft can add a few prospects that can develop into NHL roles.

This off season is super crucial into laying out if Canucks are on the Sabers or Avs path. Whoever is in charge better get it right to alleviate the misery.

Amazing that Colorado had a covid outbreak and still made the playoffs.
Having a look at the Panthers schedule, not sure how they made the playoffs with such a tight schedule.
I guess it is probably because their suckage level, isn't as high as the Canucks.
