Amazing that Colorado had a covid outbreak and still made the playoffs.
Having a look at the Panthers schedule, not sure how they made the playoffs with such a tight schedule.
I guess it is probably because their suckage level, isn't as high as the Canucks. - Reubenkincade
The Avs and the Wild both had outbreaks. Other teams had condensed schedules at points.
Honestly, if the Canucks were healthy and played a relatively normal schedule.. they still wouldn't be near the playoffs. The team was not good, and did not play well this year. |

Couple players and games for Division leading Avs team late April was a huge blow lol.
Florida having a worse schedule and travel then the Canucks must be another one of your QH sucks takes lol. |

Same old conversations every day I see. There will never be change unless we have new ownership Codes. The Courtnall hiring should be proof enough. Watch he will recommend we hire the Sedins or Linden. Cracks me up listening to all of the hope and optimism. But also constant negativity in here. We are a dilusional fanbase. It’s 35 degrees in Scottsdale |

Of those, only Hog, OJ, Rathbone and hoping Pod/Lind/maybe gadj will ever make a difference for the team. Considering that is all of them.... it's not many GOOD prospects lol maybe add lockwood and jasek...but long shots as well.
This is why rebuilds take so long....our best players are young. Now we need to fill in with other guys that are younger and cheaper and better than the rousell and beagles of the world. - canucksfan1944
OJ and Rathbone should be played full on next season - fawk bringing in the Benn, Savard, Martinez type guys/contracts to shoulder the load, we've tried that model and it isn't working. Let the kids play. I think Podkolzin will adapt like Hogs did. Lind and Gadj can move the needle (maybe not right away) but its better than guys like Hawryluk, Michalis, Boyd, Vesey - iI don't wanna see any of those guys again. I'd try Graovac as the 4C with Motte and Highmore, MacEwen, maybe Bailey are 1st depth. Hopefully we've seen the end of Beagle, Roussel, Sutter, Eriksson. You want penalty killers? Teach the fast kids to do it.
I think Focht is gonna surprise next year in Utica, I predict Lockwood will explode as well. There's no reason they won't be solid, cost controlled, bottom pairing guys by the end of next year. Keppen needs a full year easily, would love it if McDonough headed there next year. Woo is gonna have a much bigger roll next year and he'll push his limits now he has confidence. Jasek will never play in the nhl. |

Did this actually happen? The only thing I have seen on Twitter is someone saying that Friedman said the Canucks had “reached out” to Courtnall.
You guys got me all worked up yesterday and then there was literally no actual news later. |

Yup, agree with all of this, however... I think they need to sort of their RHD situation. None of their prospects are good/ready as there's only Woo on the right. Either have to trade or sign someone. |

I don't live in Vancouver but I would imagine living in the market would be privy to or at least hear stories about how much actually involvement (or meddling) FA has in the team. I wonder how much or in general, it might have changed from the 2011 team to now.
actually I don't know if you live in Vancouver but maybe some other BC posters can weight in?? |

I live across the water on Vancouver Island, but unless you are tied to that community (rich white guys) I don’t imagine there’s much that slips that isn’t meant for us. I have met Geoff a number of times, nice guy, not sure he’s ready for an executive position in the NHL. A clapper post and in on Mike Vernon isn’t exactly related experience to running a $100m organization... |

I wonder how much of it is coaching and D systems or the actual players? Its legit for each side to point blame. I think our current D is capable of being much better than what we've seen this year BUT they're giving up a lot of high danger shots, they can't break the cycle, they don't cover the point men, and they're not physical enough. Im done with Baumgartner - he was crap Dman his entire career.!
Take a team like Minnesota, who in my eyes looked like an inexperienced, young, weak team last year and they brought back the exact same D, swapped out Kaprizov for Staal and really only a couple other pieces, Rask, Bjustad, Johansson - not really guys that move the needle much BUT they've had a full year with Evasons. Coach is clearly doing something right and getting more out of his players. |

A lot of it is systems, I just think with the young guys on the left side, you need better players on the right. I'm no fan of Myers and his contract and would love for them to move him, Schmidt is good and I think will bounce back a little, and Hamonic is fine but not ideal.
Overall the players look worse because of the system, but I would like for them to upgrade the RHD because I think the LHD are going to be good/set for the next 5 years. |

Ya I'm just not a fan of no season places. Constant sun is boring, and those summer months there are killer. The humidity in NY is death though, especially when it's like 27 degrees at 10 in the morning with 90% humidity |
