Be that as it may, if Ottawa or Calgary took Olofsson for either Tkachuk brother, either of their GMs should be checked for concussions. - Powerslave
That’s why i said Olofsson PLUS Quinn for Brady |

Not sure they have the cap space to do that deal unless some salary was coming back this way. (I could be wrong) - Powerslave
The Kings actually have a lot of cap room ($9M this past season and $20M next without needing to sign many players), but if they wanted Buffalo to take some cap back, it would likely be Jonathan Quick.

Eichel was the reason we won games
Risto was often a big reason we lost games
It’s painfully obvious to see the difference between the two
One is great. The other makes a great play every 10 games or so - sbroads24
And ror couldn't score 5v5. Kane shot too much. Lehner couldn't stop a beach ball. Especially in the shootout. Girgensons shoulda scored 15 on the fourth line and Lockport Larry's loss was disastrous |

Right, however Eichel still had some very good seasons here, despite Risto cratering possession while they were on the ice together.
Apart from the PP, Risto is a net negative player. - Pegullaville
I’ll GLADLY stop talking about Risto (like u said you would) if u guys (u, sbroads, etc) would stop bashing him
He’ll likely be traded soon,
and then u guys can celebrate |

I don’t see why not.
Would require some very good wingers though. We’d need the 40 goal Vanek.
I also think Briere was a 1C but I understand your overall sentiment - Pegullaville
Seams like a plan B approach.
If they move eichel for byfield, jack hughes , petterson
Great , hopefully we have a new 1C
If not hopefully you find (3) high end 2c's of this group
Cozens
Girgensons
Mitts
Quinn
Eichel return
Sam return
Our top 3 pick

True or False - Ristolainen was one of maybe 2-3 guys who didn’t improve under Granato?
I’d say that’s obviously true.
He’s bad. The team plays well, he’s bad. The team plays poorly, he’s bad.
It is what it is |

ROR was good in Colorado. Had a great year his first year here. He was a good player whom happened to take the next step in St.Louis.
Evander Kane was a meatball off the ice but was always a good player on the ice, in both Winnipeg, Buffalo, and now San Jose.
Girgensons’ problem was not that he scored 12 and should have scored 15, it was that the way he scored and the fact his shooting percentage dictated it would have been tough to replicate this season and beyond. You don’t sign 4th liners to multi year deals.
Lehner has been better since getting off the booze however did play in an Isles system that seems to fix every goalie and Vegas is one of the best defensive teams in hockey. He also did lose his job to Fluery

He’s great on the PP.
Cut the AAV in half and play him half the minutes and he’s not an issue.
Could say that about half the team though.
I wouldn’t complain about Skinner or Okposo either if they made half of what they made |

Quick could be the perfect fit
He's got mileage, makes too much money, and will absolutely hate be traded to buffalo.
Maybe sell some fans on his "experience ".

He's the sole reason they sucked. In addition to all of the talking points above that were rehashed ad nauseum no matter the validity, Disco's system never fit his players, Housely sucked and had an incompetent defensive assistant who was picked up by a head coach who was the worst in franchise history. The there was no roster support in the lower levels, the drafting has sucked and the return for ror, kane and letting lehner walk was far worse than what was paid. And a player gave up millions of dollars to get away from the organization.
Risto's fault. |

We could take back Quick(5.8m) & Maata(3.3m) if need be- that’s over 9mil
Quick with 2yrs left & Maata with 1
Neither player has any trade protection (NTC or NMC)

Cong said above that they have more than enough space.
But if it helps increase the return from them, I'd absolutely take back a cap dump. |

A better young goal scorer (in Olofsson) than Brady
AND
An additional great (VERY) young goal scoring prospect in Quinn
So 2 pieces to add to their building core instead of just Brady |

Literally no one has said this.
But this has what it’s come down to. Extreme exaggeration of what people are saying
There’s no evidence anymore that he’s anywhere near good. He doesn’t score a lot of points anymore, he doesn’t defend well, doesn’t score a lot of goals for a D man.
There’s nothing there
Eichel, Reinhart, Skinner, Dahlin have been reasons we’ve won hockey games the last few years, on the few occasions we do.
Ristolainen has been a detriment way more than a solution |
