Eichel for zegras, Manson, Gibson and a 2021 2nd.
Manson would really help develop dahlin.
Gibson can anchor a young team and allow them to make mistakes. - Carubba-Kaleta

.....Jani Hakanpaa is a pending UFA. - BINGO!
Yes he is, I do know that.
My point is it was not the defenseman you automatically assumed it would be, and the Sabres would take additional cap back in Fast to even out the deal financially. |

thank you.
I'm sorry but that's nuts. Aho is the engine that drives the team, and he's missed 4 games due to injury in his career. Eichel joined the league a year earlier but has only played 9 more games.
Eichel is still the more talented player, and has a decent contract, but he's also a bigger risk and swapping out he and Aho has the potential to significantly disrupt team chemistry. Not sure you want to make a move like that at this point wen your contending window has just opened. - BINGO!
Or maybe you DO want to make that move...(attempting Jedi mind trick) |

Then you haven't been paying attention.
Eichel > Aho, yes.
A million dollars worth more? Yeah probably.
But there's a lot of baggage and injuries that come with him.

I don't know how you evaluate how these guys do their jobs. How do you definitively know whether or not a guy is good or needs to be replaced or upgraded? I think it's an interesting topic. - TheSabresTaco
just watching their positioning, communication and transition says a lot about how far the defense has come...look at dahlin and how far he's come on the defensive side while tapping into all the skills that made him franchise draft pick...bryson looks good despite his lack of size and rookie mistakes...they're just playing better hockey...in addition, girardi is only a couple years removed from playing the game and the connection he has with these youngins is shining through |

although it might seem as if i'm fully vested in an existential approach to this franchise, there is hope. Cozens, Mitts and Dahlin represent a good trio moving forward...skunks play post r lph was next level good...the farm system is beginning to fill up with some good prospects and those who made the jump to the nhl look prepared for their roles at this level...and granato looks like a top-notch developmental head coach...
that said, can anyone in their right minds trust any of the pegula's moves?...kevyn adams may work out...how he handles the big three will be a litmus test as will the draft and his free agent acquisitions...
color me skeptical...and happy i don't have to write a blog about those knuckleheads up top and their team on an almost daily basis - Michael Pachla
By the big three do you mean Risto, Reinhart and Eichel or the prospects? It would stand to reason that their returns are probably the most crucial part of this rebuild. Sorry if that's what you meant. |

Question, if their teams were switched, how many points would each respective player get?
Aho-60
Eichel-100+
Doubt that assessment? If so, I would say you aren't paying attention. If you agree, then I think I'm spot on. |

Rather send him to a bottom team like LA or ducks and get a lottery pick next year - gerbe75pts
For sure. Gotta explore every avenue though.

A top 5 goalie a top prospect and a top paring dman. Plus a high 2nd. I'd say that's pretty close, you wont get much more. |

Then no argument. We need to take someone to the cleaners. I'm hoping for LA too, Doughty's comments seem to have ruffled some feathers, maybe they pull the trigger on Turcotte to sweeten the deal and get it done. |

Does Eichel stay healthy long enough to put in 100 points?
And, honest question because I do not know, does Jack kill penalties? |

And yet this poster said yes, Aho for Eichel makes sense.
Isn't that more than you've been saying they'll get for Eichel? |

I did try to tell them last night that the gap is not as big as they make think it is.
Eichel is the better player but we’re talking about trading a top 5 C for a top 10 C.
Aho is also a weapon short handed. |

Yes regarding health.
He is frequently out for the last 30 seconds or so of the PK. |

Yea my trade scenario is a dream.
Any GM trading for him is likely only giving up a top prospect a cap dump and a 1st. |

My reaction was to a 1to1 or close to it trade with CAR for Aho. Jack is a better player and we aren't taking a 1for1 downgrade. By all means go off though. |

That’s entirely different than saying he’s the sole reason we lose. Come on.
This debate is so futile.
Provide evidence he isn’t as bad as we’ve claimed?
He’s a bad hockey player, and you might like him. Sorry his terrible play leads to a lot of commentary on it.

He's made it through two full seasons in his career, if you count the 68 game shortened year as "Full"

I think they'll get a bit more than that.
My Idea was
Strome (Cap purposes plus good 2nd line center)
Laf (Top end prospect)
Miller (Good D prospect)
Buch (Cap purposes Good winger)
