What a GREAT game.
Florida is such a very, very good team and could very well take this series.
Bolts really needed that win.
Vasi was not all that great, IMO...that goal on Huberdeau was weak even though Huberdeau made an outstanding play.
Duclaire, Barkov and Monte all played very well too.
Looking forward to game 2 |

Tic tac toe passing.
Wait until they start feeding Heddy in the middle up top...drives the slot = goal 75% of the time. |

Which one of Roy, Pominville, Vanek, Afinoganov, Briere, Drury, Dumont, Hecht, Kotalik punched faces ?
Yet they lost in Game 7 of an ECF due to injury luck.

I was busy working around the house this afternoon, only saw the replays ... but holy crap was Fleury out of his mind with so many high quality saves...he must have the best glove hand in the game.
Would VKG hold celery? Say $2 milhouses, I would go for that..$5m then resign him for another 1 or 2. |

I think a couple of you missed some sarcasm a couple of posts back. I was making fun of the claim that our problem is that we have soft players. Get more good players. |

Kucherov has 3 points.
Huberdeau has 2.
Barkov has a goal.
Point has a goal.
A bunch of face punchers have given us some 4 on 4 hockey though.
Great play by Bennett there to belt Coleman in the game and give the Lightning a goal - Pegullaville
It was dumb by him, but to be a bit fair, there were questionable hits all the over the ice and not many were called.
The referees lost control of the game last night. If every game is officiated like last night, there are going to be multiple injuries for both teams by the end of the series.
Is that really what the NHL wants? |

It's clear what they want: Wrestling/MMA on ice based on how they called the game last night. |

you are basing that on 1 game
1 ref crew
the other 2 playoff games were nothing like that game |

How was McDonagh not tossed from the game with a 5 minute major for this bullpoop hit?
https://twitter.com/hayyy.../1394081183537958915?s=19 - kingcong39
Agreed, it was bad.
Duclaires head bounced of the top rail as he slid down.
It was ugly, and surprising it wasn't called.
Great game though...nobody yielded an inch. |

Apparently, yes.
The 2nd last game of the season was exactly the same.
I didn't see the last game as they closed out the season with a mini series between them. |

Coleman would be a great get.
Guy can play, and is certainly the 1st guy to jump in and play very physical when needed.
He Gourde and Goodrow were the guys who brought it every game last season during the playoffs. They started the period and usually closed them out...cooper relied on them incredibly so.
I'd take him in a second. At $1.8m, for 31 pts in 56 is a 45pt pace over 82...that is a steal at $2.5m

Take out the dirty hits as you mentioned and that game was the intensity of GM 7 in the SCF...in GM 1 of the opening round.
Florida is intent on getting into Vasi's face and running the net hard...they have done it in the 2 games I saw. It will invoke the scrums..no need for McDonagh's hit though. |

First round usually has the most hits/intensity. By the time June rolls around (or July this year) guys are pretty (frank)ed up so the hitting and pace tails off a bit.
1st round is the best hockey in the world with the exception of the Olympics |

Coleman's predicted next deal is either 4 years at $4.8M per or 5 years at $5M per.
Homie and I discussed this a few weeks ago.
I like Coleman too, but he would be a bad signing at the numbers above. |

Does anybody think the Sabres are on the same planet as Florida and Tampa? Might not be in the same universe.
Now throw in Toronto, Carolina, NY Isles, Washington, Boston.
Sabres in a dog fight with Rags, Philly, Montreal , up and coming Ottawa for a chance at PO's...but need to beat out NJ, Detroit CBJ for a chance to even fight.
Now subtract Eichel, Reingart, Risto and maybe more.
Sabres might want to update the Tank Message they had Darcy express... maybe replace Suffering with
The hurt has been real, and now the pain will be incredible
