Trotz said Varlamov is “very close. I trust both our goalies. … Whoever we put in net we feel pretty comfortable with.”
Translation: Sorokin will start game 2 - keaner17
I agree, close isn’t good enough. He needs to be 100%. |

Semyon Varlamov just left the ice at #Isles optional skate. He was on the ice for almost an hour. Cory Schneider remains out working with the extras from yesterday: Dal Colle, Zajac, Johnston, Hickey, Coburn. - keaner17

One thing that is certain is that you are the biggest dooooch bag I have ever met. Since I live in Florida why don't you come visit me I will even buy the ticket. I would like to take you out for some gator hunting. Again I ask you do you have any friends? - floridaronnie
PM me I would love to go. One thing though, do you have any teeth? People with no teeth scare me. I’m in Florida all winter so no problem at all.
PS I can afford the flight. JS can vouch for me.
By the way it’s douche bag not doooch bag |

Let Varly heal. Sorokin earned another start. I still have more faith in Varly, but I'd rather have him at 100%.

What am I vouching? That you have teeth? Yes, you do. Also, you have had a highly successful career driving Uber.
P.S.--Don't forget to pick me up at the airport. |

Injury reports are gamesmanship strategies for Trotz
If you see someone leave the ice in pain, just always assume he's hurt and out until you physically see him back in a game. |

OK...topics of the day:
1) Leo Komarov is not a first line player. That's the criticism I hear most about him (and agree with), and if he threw 690 hits in a period yesterday I'm not sure that statement would be any less true, but it would be a legendary accomplishment for a bottom-six forward, which is what Komarov is. The situation is what it is, though...the first line is where he is and where he's staying, so we all have to make peace with it (I have). But, to capt's point, we probably don't have to relitigate the issue every time the guy takes a competent baby step out there on the ice.
2) As for Bailey, I think he does more good out there than he gets credit for, but I get the criticisms because when he's bad, he's very noticeably bad; but when he's good, he's sort of under-the-radar good. I still believe he overthinks things sometimes, and when options A and B aren't there for him, he thinks himself into trouble. That's painfully obvious on the power play.
3) Mayfield...yeah...he hasn't been great. I think this season we're seeing that Toews was maybe a little better than we thought he was, and maybe held that pairing up a bit, because I feel like Leddy-Mayfield has been a noticeably worse pair defensively all season. I still like his physicality back there, and think that'll be even more important as this series goes on, and even more important if the Isles are fortunate enough to move on to face one of the other divisional teams. - UIF
1. Agreed. Move on everyone. What you see is what you get. If you’re on my side of the fence hope for the best. Like I said I hope Komarov scores 15 goals and wins the conn smythe and proves me wrong.
2. Bailey to me is a talented player that does really stupid crap sometimes. Sometimes he does it too much for my liking. Funny enough I was never a Bailey basher till this season. In fact I’ve defended the guy in the past for his point production alone. Earlier this season his defensive lapses were far to frequent and face in palm variety for me. I couldn’t stomach it anymore.. Lately he has been more good then bad imo. Thats great hopefully he can keep it up. That’s my opinion. Someone doesn’t like it I don’t (frank)ing care that’s fine again move on. I said it about Barzal who looks terrible save for moments in the third a couple times last night as well. I don’t discriminate. That strangely enough didn’t upset anyone? These game threads HAVE ALWAYS been filled with reactionary comments like that. It’s part of the fun. If that triggers you like an upset millennial looking at trump tweets do something else with your time or scroll on past my post you god damn woman. I will not be offended.
3. Mayfield yeah he has had a tough season overall. Hoping his game improves. If it doesn’t I don’t think his physicality is really going to have any impact as the opposing team is scoring when he’s out there. If opposing coaches have last change they’re throwing out their first line(unless they have a Leo Komarov like player on it) against him. That’s it, that’s all I got for him |

Season is 8-15 to11-1 So you have time to decide. We like to put a piece of chicken on a treble hook and throw it out there but for you we can give you a piece of chicken to put in your mouth and swim out from the boat. I would do it but I dont have teeth - floridaronnie
I’ll over look your crud mouth Redneck. Let me know where and when and I’ll be there in my speedo and swim goggles |
