I hope that is a joke. The reason why the kid is as bad as he is, is because he is given the freedom to do what he wants, hence why he is often the last man back into the defensive zone.

I disagree. I don't think he's bad, I think he hasn't been good defensively, but I also don't think he is playing a system that is optimal for his style, and I don't think pairing him with a free agent that is a bottom pairing at best is optimal either. He will get better, but he needs better support as well.

Only so many roster spots. Lockwood and Michaelis are younger guys getting a shot, it’s not like he’s dressing a bunch of 30 year olds over in the bottom 6. Gadjovich probably draws in for the finale

Reasonable take

I know Ruby hates Hughes. 😆 its turning into Vantel and his hate for the Sedins.

Hamonic is a fine partner with him. Just not as a first pair. Edler and Schmidt are also not first pair D.

I was hoping for better out of the team all together this year and got worse.

"Fine" isn't good enough though. It's evident in the team stats and individual stats. The team is full of mediocre/fine players outside of a few good ones.

QH looked lost this season without Tanev. Lately with Hamonic finally finding a groove its been better. Still QH will need to improve his defensive lapses.

Tanev made Hughes look better than he was defensively because tanev is scared to venture more than 2 steps over the offensive blue line, which allowed Quinn to play more aggressive. Hughes needs to learn to pick his spots, and he needs a partner that can read off him like tanev did, and like how tanev said he did to the media so many times last season. Hughes will always be a threat in the offensive zone, he just needs to be much better in the other 2 zones.

So more of the Megna/Chaput, great.

Yes i am aware of the crazy market in the island and been monitoring/comparing the market in victoria and Whitby. I sold my house for 180k$ above asking price over here in whitby and we are in our forties me and my wife so we do have some nice equity. Actually i heard about the royal bay development for the first time last night, i looked at it and it’s mostly new house. I been in the renovation/construction business for a long time now so reno doesn’t scare me.

Are you suggesting that the systems need to be designed around his playing style?
If that is the case, then I would say the system is already set up that way, which is why there are so many odd man rushes against, with a forward back defending.
