Are you suggesting that the systems need to be designed around his playing style?
If that is the case, then I would say the system is already set up that way, which is why there are so many odd man rushes against, with a forward back defending.

The system doesn't allow Quinn to play his style at all imo. Whether it's defensive or offensive zone, it's dump and retrieve, which is the opposite of the way good teams play today. Controlled zone exits and entries are so important, and the canucks are so bad at both. Hughes instinctualy wants to carry the puck and then move towards the slot in the offensive zone but it never works because of how they dump it and cant retrieve it.

Watching Colorado play, they never dump the puck in or chip it in. The forwards always bring it in, bump it back to the defense and set up. Or, watching makar play, he brings it over the blue, waits for the offense to set up, chips it on the wall and then rotates to the top of circle and they are setup to cycle and shoot. It's so vastly different than how the canucks scramble to try and make something happen.

Actually, the Canucks should have re-signed Tanev and not traded for a downgrade at 1.5 million and given up a 3rd round pick.

"Fine" isn't good enough though. It's evident in the team stats and individual stats. The team is full of mediocre/fine players outside of a few good ones.
