Fire Weisbrod. Get an asst GM to work with JB in conjunction over the next season. Get him to pick the new coach. JB done next season and new asst Gm takes over. Like in TB. - manvanfan
I’m on board with bringing in help for JB, add to him, don’t replace him |

So much to celebrate! - Marwood
there really is so much to celebrate. i love that tiny little man-boy arthur griffiths dunked on FA. yeah, he let the guys he hired do their jobs. what a swell guy.
did little arthur also tweet what it felt like when daddy owned the team which allowed him to force the coach to allow him to skate with the team prior to practice?

and who is JB responsible to? or put another way, who can fire him? if it's the president, then you're just bringing in someone and asking him if he wants to fire or keep JB. |

Yes. And maybe another assistant GM or advisor, get a couple of good experienced hockey guys in there to help him out. He’s probably a bit overwhelmed, I believe the Canucks have amongst the fewest front office staff in the league. Any GM in that spot would be overwhelmed |

RD says an offer has been made to bring back Green, Benning haters in shambles. They wouldn’t bring back the coach right now if they were firing the GM this week. |

7 years is definitely way too short to come to any solid conclusions as to his leadership. you're right, generally in sports, a GM's performance is measured in decades not years.
i can't remember the last time a hockey gm got fired before 8 to 10 years with the team.
fickleness indeed. |

They beat the defending cup champs last year and almost beast Vegas, and now a season later people want the entire thing blown up. Toxic fanbase with way too short of a memory |

That saddens me, i was hoping they would see that the players aren't improving under Green. |

my first choice is a full cleanse within the organization.
my second choice is everyone from Green to JB to edler to sutter gets brought back.
my third choice is JB fired but Weisbrod brought back as GM and Green as coach. |

Pettersson, Hughes, Horvat, Miller, Boeser, Hoglander, Demko, Podkolzin, top 10 pick this year
What a poop show - Nucker101
So what? No point in having potential without results. Here's the reality:
2021 22-28-4 Missed Playoffs
2020 36-27-6 Lost Conference Semi-Finals (Won 1 Round)
2019 35-36-11 Missed Playoffs
2018 31-40-11 Missed Playoffs
2017 30-43-9 Missed Playoffs
2016 31-38-13 Missed Playoffs
2015 48-29-5 Lost First Round (Won 0 Rounds)
2014 36-35-11 Missed Playoffs
That record and the current roster does not deserve confidence or adulation. |

yeah, the playoffs from last july after 2 months off for everyone told a complete and full picture of this team.
sadly, this season doesn't count so it's as if it never happened.
i, for one, hope that the canucks build off the momentum. they really are riding high. just gotta forget january to may of this year. oh and forget, the second half of last season too. and forget all about the seasons before that.
just keep remembering that hockey that was played last summer in the middle of july. |

I think people would celebrate if it contributed to losing and therefore a higher draft pick |

Those first few seasons were inevitable with the stale old core he took over. The last 3 seasons they’ve been competitive(they were this season before covid derailed the season) |

What sort of results did you expect from a re-tool turned re-build?

Pretty sure the Wild, Blues and Knights were all playing under the same circumstances and played as hard as they would during a normal playoffs. To write that off is just pure bias driven by blind hatred.
Like how people cry over Brackett and yet Benning overruled Brackett and picked Hoglander |

They want an Oilers like “rebuild” that relies on lottery balls and somehow magically just ends after 2 or 3 years and turns the team into a contender |

yup. this season started off great and was getting better.
if not for the dastardly covid, tough schedule, horrible travel, bad reffing, mean media, bad weather... and stuff. |
