He puts himself in good positions, on both sides of the puck.
A couple seasons back, when I was talking about him being a potential player, I got laughed at, funny how that goes. - Reubenkincade
No that was me... back then you used to make sense until you sold your soul to Marwood. |

Canucks front office has been understaffed compared to league average. I even said before this rumour started that it made sense to hire people to work along side Benning to help him, not replace him. This is a great move and I'm glad Benning is still the GM and mentoring the Sedins. - Nucker101

yup, equally as dumb to think a 21 year old will stop growing, improving, putting on weight and adding strength - What a novel concept. - Brooks_Light
Well he's 23 this year so he'd better grow quickly. |

If fans are happy with badly coached, poorly managed, soft team of excuses, then you're right, nothing to despair. - Marwood
It always takes longer than people want....our best players are under 25. I'm pumped on Rathbone and Lockwood now. Hope for Lind.
I want a new coach for sure and prob a new GM. But some pieces of the puzzle are there.
Demko alone the last 1/2 of the season gets you in the playoffs next year.

He was taking more risks in Utica - like I said, "he would go on adventures." not in a bad way but he's definitely playing much more reserved since joining the big club, which is smart/good to see. |

I recently did my GM/Scout course with SMWW and one of my mentors was Mike Oke the GM of the Peterborough Petes who had McTavish and he said he is ready to step in to the NHL he has got good hockey sense and he feels he won't need seasoning and can contribute now. I would like the lineup as posted, would balance the lines and having Petey with two large wingers who can create space is exactly what he needs. Podz is an underrated passer so he can feed Petey and JTM. I like Bo and Boeser together and add Hoglander in they could be fun to watch.

I'm okay with Eddie coming back on a 1 year deal for like 2M to play 5/6 D.
Defence next year:
QH - Hamonic
Schmidt - Edler
Rathbone - Meyers
OJ
Uless you can trade Meyers. I don't want to sell low onn shmidt I think he has a bounce-back year. - canucksfan1944
I doubt he plays for that. But more important you got 2 UFA's can't sign both and pay OJ to sit. |

Boeser is quietly putting up 70 pts over an 82 game season, primarily without EP. |

You weren't here back then. As I stated at the time the Canucks picked him, I said he was a future PP guy that is capable of playing at both ends of the ice.
Other than some obvious picks, Rathbone is the only player the Canucks have taken that I was hoping for at that spot. |

After a little extra research i realize their is two hockey association in Victoria area: Victoria minor hockey and Juan de Fuca association.
We are planning on buying a house in Colwood/Langford area. Is Juan de Fuca minor hockey is the association for Colwood/langford area? - Yannick72[/img]
Yea, you would register in JdF (that’s what we call it) |

I think he'd take a cut to stay in Van and finish his career there. Maybe 3M? if not I'd let him walk and keep hanonic. I hope OJ is ready, but not sure they want QH, Rathbone and OJ on the same back end. Speaking of soft....

Please god no. I honestly don't see it - I think he knows he's done. Replace Baumgartner, be very very careful in free agency - if at all & play the kids. |

yes. it's nice of benning to mentor them.
plus, it really does show the organization in a positive light. it's nice that the team finds work for past employees. it's almost as if they've set up an internship programme for retirees.
that really has to send out signals to UFAs out there who are looking to wind down their careers and are looking at the next step. come to vancouver for a relaxed work environment with a career re-entry program.
gotta give credit to FA, the canucks and certainly JB. |

Sedins will definitely be offering Edler a contract to return. He's a solid vet that can help the likes of Hughes, Rathbone, OJ and Chatfield to continent develop. |

Don't get me wrong he's a fine player. I still don't see him as a guy who's going to dominate a playoff run, never did. |

We should get Nonis to come back as president, the Sedins as PP/strength and conditioning coaches, let JB focus more on scouting and put Weisbrod at the gate 16 shaking hands and greeting fans |

OJ has started developing more physicality in his game and has been stronger on the boards. Good at pushing guys coming on the outside wide behind the net, instead of crashing it. |

Ya, when you said he was laying rover , like Hughes, I was concerned that he had changed his style from what he usually plays. |
