Well I guess that settles it - trade him now or burn him at the stake. Fawking incurable wrist injury!!!

Right, that's the first time he's hurt.

Sedins will definitely be offering Edler a contract to return. He's a solid vet that can help the likes of Hughes, Rathbone, OJ and Chatfield to continent develop.
- Nucker101

If we bring back Edler, someone needs to be traded to make room. I'd like to see him gone and get a new RHD. OJ and Rathbone are both looking like they belong in the NHL, but you can't have Hughes, Edler, OJ AND Rathbone up in the NHL, constantly swaping between OJ and Rath.
Let Edler walk and keep both, sign Edler and trade one of them.

I recently did my GM/Scout course with SMWW and one of my mentors was Mike Oke the GM of the Peterborough Petes who had McTavish and he said he is ready to step in to the NHL he has got good hockey sense and he feels he won't need seasoning and can contribute now. I would like the lineup as posted, would balance the lines and having Petey with two large wingers who can create space is exactly what he needs. Podz is an underrated passer so he can feed Petey and JTM. I like Bo and Boeser together and add Hoglander in they could be fun to watch.

About a week ago, I said McTavish and Beniers are the only 2 in this draft that I think are nhl ready.
I actually think McTavish will be a great pick, hopefully he drops out of the top 5 all the way down to us at 13th.

EP is fun to watch and all but he's on some kind of pedestal around here. I think I read someone say he's basically Auston Matthews?

I for one am not surprised he got hurt, he's small. Also, it's been said more than once that the best ability is availability. When analyzing a player's worth you have to take into account how many games they're able to play.

Said the same about Motte. Decent player when healthy but never healthy so what’s the point in having him take up a roster position.

And it won't be the last according to you and your crystal ball. BTW, where did you purchase it? Zellers?

All I can say is that I'll be there to tell you "I told you so" when he's re-signed by Benning and the Sedins.

I knew I'd get grief over it, how dare I question the great EP?

He's young and very skilled there's no doubt about that. However, he's treated like he's a top 10 player in the league around here and he's not close to that.

Did you recognize me from the cash register? You were a very polite clerk but it sure took you a long time to count out the change.

You weren't here back then. As I stated at the time the Canucks picked him, I said he was a future PP guy that is capable of playing at both ends of the ice.
Other than some obvious picks, Rathbone is the only player the Canucks have taken that I was hoping for at that spot.

- Reubenkincade

You said couple years ago and I did start posting then about Rathbone and OJ being future LS starters for team.

I'm OK if they sign Edler for a year but for christ sakes cut his ice time down by around 5 minutes a night.

Canucks front office has been understaffed compared to league average. I even said before this rumour started that it made sense to hire people to work along side Benning to help him, not replace him. This is a great move and I'm glad Benning is still the GM and mentoring the Sedins.

I personally find it hilarious that we blame Covid for anything. I mean without Covid there are no guarantees we even make the playoffs last season which is the one shining candle everyone seems to be holding about the potential greatness of this team.

There's no denying they were limping to the finish line last season before the break. I seriously wonder how much support there would be had we missed last season and followed it up with this dud.
