Elias Pettersson - 36 points
McDavid - 34 points

So the Matthews comparable isn't that far off. Pettersson with 66 points his rookie year Matthews with 69. Before Covid shut down Pettersson second season was on pace for an 80 point season and Matthews second season he had 63 points lol

Now Petey (3rd season) is shut down due to an injury 26 games into a 56 game sched and he's a bust? Come on man be smart.

Let's see what he can put up in an 82 game healthy schedule before declaring busts you think?

Maybe he is and that's why they're trying hard to get him 100. I don't care if he does, wish him well. I don't care if he's back, as long as his role is reduced and he's paid accordingly.

What I don't want is another 2 years handed out or any type of money. We've reached the year to year stage of his career.

lol look I'm not saying EP will be way better than Matthews but it IS a comparable.

Of course Matthews PPG is good he's been in the league 5 seasons and Petey 2 -1/3 lol I want to see where Pettersson will be after 5 seasons and I bet it's close. Hopefully Pettersson stays healthy.

But with Pettersson at 66 points his rookie year and an 80 point pace his second year there is no reason to think that a full 82 game 4th season will not produce excellent numbers. I think that the off year the team has had and the anger towards Owners/MNGT/Coach has really geared the anger towards Petey and Hughes and these guys are franchise players as time will show IMO.

Just two more regulation points to go and we finish right behind Calgary and pick 11-13?
