I’d hoist a few with you. After all ppl shouldn’t take posting on a blog too seriously. It’s fun to agree or disagree in good debates. Getting personal isn’t cool. - Nighthawk
You helped keep a up and down year fun to talk about.
I guess we move to what a lot of posters love, SUMMER OFF ICE MOVES.
I guess its more worth talking about then the season. (I liked the Jake, Loui Seattle thing NH proposed)
Since no one is talking about it, and it falls into the crypto talk, (NFT's) I'll post.
And cuz there are a couple closet fans.
I'm not sure why you keep posting this terrible and embarassing music... it's just probably the worst rapper I've ever heard combined with garbage content.

Have you seen my FB? 1700 last count. But its true that I don't really interact with all of them. - WelfareWerewolf
Edit...to verify I have revealed my alter ego to aa couple people on here. (The boss, and a regular poster who is "too important IRL to associate in IRL" but can verify)
And boss, no hate. Being the HB cop isn't easy I would bet, and a lot of what you have to do falls into "doing your job". So if I gave off negativity towards you , was not my intention
Well Mathews hasn't reached his yet, and not sure Mogilny or even Naslund are sure bets. With Mogilny I mean as a Canuck. Bure was a special player, Hank had that one great season.
By the time it's said and done i'd bet on Matthews. - golfingsince
Nor has EP reached his in just 2 seasons.
This conversation is stupid.
I can fully understand being sour and fed up with Ownership & Management (the ACTUAL issues), but you're clearly doubling down on this because you are pissy that people called you out for dumping on a guy with a wrist injury.
Pettersson is still wicked good.
Matthews had to deal with severe shoulder injuries a couple years ago. They're setbacks-- it happens.
But they're both legitimate All-Stars & top world talents.
But sure, let's ridicule and label him as some fragile underachiever due to a wrist injury, even though everything prior to this season has suggested that he can potentially be the greatest player in the franchise's history.
I wonder if other fanbases are so quick to turn on their top talent. If so, even Nate Mac must've been viewed as disappointing when COL was a bottom feeder a few years ago...

The Canucks are not like other franchises.
I think golfing is just playing the odds. If you’ve been a Canuck fan for a long time you know that anything this franchise touches turns to poop. And it’s nobody’s fault but their own. Self inflicted wounds usually cause by poor ownership and/or poor management.
So if you’re a betting man, bet on EP not living up to expectations because he is a Canuck. That way you won’t be disappointed when the inevitable happens.

Nate was disappointing then he put it together. That's why his contract is so awesome
A couple things from Wyatt/the Athletic this morning..
“Clark is unbelievable, I owe just about everything to him. I don’t speak too much about him in the media, but while I’m putting in the work the way he’s guided me, mentored me...
“I desperately hope they can figure something out.” - Thatcher Demko on Ian Clark’s contract status
You'd think after signing Demko to that contract, they'd put him in the best position to succeed, no?
And this, about the Sedins:
In order to satisfy a large part of the market, bringing in the Sedins would have to be the first step of many, even if it’s a hell of a first step.
The problem with the Canucks is that we’ve all seen this trick before, back when they brought the former golden child Trevor Linden into the fold. It felt like a PR move to help boost ticket sales and inflate confidence in the franchise, but ended up being a disaster when Linden left in a messy divorce.
And to that note, if we know anything about the Sedins, it’s that they would never put themselves or the team in a bad predicament. They would be the last people in the world to accept a job they weren’t prepared or qualified for. So in one sense, them joining the organization and learning from the ground up is a very Sedin-like approach, and I have all the faith in the world they would do a tremendous job following that path. It would also be a move applauded by many because if you live by the idea of surrounding yourself with good people, there aren’t many better than the twins.
The problem is if you bring in the Sedins and utilize their goodwill as a smoke screen for making no other major changes, it once again reeks of a shortcut by Francesco Aquilini, and also shows a carelessness for the legacy of the Sedins if you’re willing to use them as a prop.
If you also happen to think your management team needs an insular level of protection with the players, either your management team isn’t good enough do to the job or else you are making it painfully obvious your views are firmly pushing your management team’s decisions and that you don’t really think changes are needed.
Don’t get me wrong, bringing in new voices and skill sets is a cornerstone of any good company, and something the Canucks should absolutely do. It’s just hard to give the benefit of the doubt to an ownership and management team that has done everything in its power to quiet any voices of dissent.
If you bring in the twins and make only minor changes, what is going to actually change?
Once again I find myself asking, what is the plan here, really?
If the Canucks hope was to ride the goodwill of former players through another season of the last seven years, one almost hopes the Sedins stay as far away as possible from it.
I also think the Canucks have badly misjudged this market if they think that’s going to work.
Plus Benning coming back:
Elliotte Friedman
@FriedgeHNIC
Not sure what to expect for a timeline of announcements from the Canucks, but word tonight is Jim Benning was given indication in the last 24 hours that he is to return.
Big game today. Should be fun getting another 2 important points.
Hopefully Silovs gets in, along with Gadjovich, Rathbone, Lind, Juolevi, Chatfield and Lockwood.
As long as Francesco Aquilini and Jim Benning are associated with the Canucks franchise they’re destined to fail. Just look at all the nonsense of bringing in ex players instead of performing a proper vetting process to hire a professional president and general manager.
The Canucks have turned into the Kevin Lowe - Craig McTavish era Oilers, without the multiple first overall picks. They’ve failed on the ice, which has brought in multiple fantastic young players but they’re unable to build around them.....it’s really a cryin shame for the fan base.

Hello Lefty.
Nice to see you pop in .
I think most Canucks fans are feeling apathetic these days. Unfortunately, there appears to be no end in sight.

There’s a journalist who wrote an article on understanding NFTs, then sold a photo of the article (as an NFT) for $750k. Not the article, we’re talking about a photo. A photo of an article. We’re talking about a photo. A photo.

Just like crypto-currency, NFTs are just things given imaginary value. It's the same fascination for people as collecting rare comic books, trading cards, etc. It's just about being able to say "I own this, and no one else does".
I saw a tweet the other day explaining the crypto craze to someone who knew nothing about it. "Imagine if leaving your car idling 24/7 produced solved sudokus, which you could then trade in for crack"
