Whoa howdy lurker 😂😂 - Nighthawk
Hey Nighthawk, only another 2 season of Benning bashing, that's if the team plays better next season.
I like the talent, good mix of players, instill some sound structure and systems and we should be in the playoffs.
oops, sorry my canucks pj's are showing over top of my canucks socks and slippers. |

Anyone can do a post mortem. Lol
Missing the playoffs is one thing but not the end of the world neither. JB didn’t help himself with UFA signings but they will disappear soon enough. Nor did he sign Luongo but had to eat the recapture. He only only has FA’s blessing for 1 more season. Beyond that is up in the air. It’s an offseason of many options that’ll ultimately decide his hockey future & the Canucks. We just have to have faith. Ouch lol - Nighthawk
it's a bunch of what if's and could haves and should haves. i agree.
it's just frustrating that JB's biggest strength wasn't fully utilized. he said he loved the draft. i just wished he loved acquiring draft picks a little bit more. |

Outta left field notion...
Trade our 1st with cap dumps to the Kracken. Use cap to fill big holes on D & 3C.
1st/LE/Holtby/JV for 2nd or at worst a future 2nd or settle for a 3rd & 4th. Kraken only eat 1 year of all 3. Predicated on signing Petey/Hughes on bridge deals 1st. I’m not impressed with this draft crop tbh especially with so many unknowns & all.
Go out & be predatory on deals with teams needing to move unprotected players.
Who would we target?
When the dust settles it’s UFA time. |

Let's see what the order is first. Teams priorities determine a lot especially in an unstable ranked draft. - NuckUp
Buffalo - Berniers
Anaheim - Power
Seattle - ?Clarke??
NJ - Hughes
Columbus - McTavish
Detroit - Johnson
San Jose - Guenther
LA - Edvinsson
Vancouver - ???? Eklund, Lucuis, Raty, Lysell - I hope for a centre or a Dman
I wonder if any of those teams would pick Wallsteadt/need a goalie??

So we are trading a top 10 pick to dump 10m? JV's buyout only costs us 50k against the cap next year and 500k after. LE buyout saves us 2m. Holtby likely cant't but potentially could be moved for cheaper. |

If those fall it’s BPA so Eklund if we pick.

More to it.
We get a pick or 2 back.
Cap space to weaponize.
The deal could be improved if you care to.

Sorry you and some others can't see it but its always been there. What's lacking is execution. A number of players underperformed. Many factors from scheduling to team chemistry may have contributed. Only BB, Demko and Hogs found their game. |

Riverboat gambler I am lol
I have no pattern nor do I know what I’ll do next. 😂
What I do though is throw it out there for input & my own look at it. Then tweak.
I am a dangerous read in poker & either kill it or myself. Big risk player who is like Hansen. Just sayin... 😂 |

Well, that was a dismal hockey season, even more so than I anticipated.
Hopefully whoever is in charge can clean things up this off season.
If anyone wants to stop by for a beer let me know, otherwise, see you at training camp. |

unless you're trading with a team who wants to move up and will give a relatively close 1st rounder plus multiple other picks, it's not worth considering.
and i'd only consider it if their draft list showed no real difference makers where they are drafting.
and even then i'd hesitate. |

Yeah Eklund is an intriguing pick. I'd be great if he was developed as a centerman. He also put up great numbers as a 17yr old in the SHL this year. I read he had covid to start the season, then an appendicitis (missed the WJs) before really getting back to normal in January. Could be a dynamite pick actually. Really needs to put on some weight tho. |

Straight up buying out those players saves 8 mil next season, costing 3.4 the season after.
That's not worth a top 10 pick |

It’ll be an interesting offseason. There’s some money coming off the books, but even more getting added with raises for EP and QH. If the owners are willing to fork over a little cash to buy out some of the dead space contracts this would be the summer to do it. Covid prices for free agents should still be a thing this summer, but probably (hopefully) not next summer. It doesn’t really fit with the Canucks competitive timeline, but cap space could be extremely useful to add a player at low asset cost that another team risks losing in expansion, or to simply sign a free agent or two at pandemic price points. Hopefully Covid is a once in a century thing, in which case this summer provides a unique opportunity for a team positioned to take advantage. |

Ok fair enough so my counter is...
MDP/JV/LE for Kracken’s 3rd
1st for Cirelli/Foote
Petey Miller Boeser
Pearson Bo Pod
Hog Cirelli Lind
Motte Graovac Lockwood
???
Hughes Savard
Schmidt Myers
Rathbone Foote
OJ Bowey
A quick wingdingin it prolly needs work lol |
