If Seattle wants a young netminder, they'll take on in the expansion draft. They're not taking on money to get one, plus giving up a pick.
Also don't think Tampa sends two quality players away for a draft pick, especially as they'll still lose someone to Seattle in the expansion draft. |

Sorry you and some others can't see it but its always been there. What's lacking is execution. A number of players underperformed. Many factors from scheduling to team chemistry may have contributed. Only BB, Demko and Hogs found their game. - NuckUp
FM, sorry but it's not there period, unless of course collapsing defensively, dump and chase are your idea of sound structure and systems then the Canucks are the best structured team in the NHL.. |

Well, that was a dismal hockey season, even more so than I anticipated.
Hopefully whoever is in charge can clean things up this off season.
If anyone wants to stop by for a beer let me know, otherwise, see you at training camp. - 1970vintage

It's the same system he taught some 9 year olds to play with, why couldn't it work in the NHL? |

Those are breakdowns from execution fails. Its amusing that some of you think that's the system. Obvious problems could have been fixed with more practise times. Too bad that wasn't available. |

The root is systems. Every good team has a good system that applies to their talent make up. |

Season turned sour when Petey busted up all those guys in the locker room brawl. Petey hurt, players involved embarrassed by a 165 lb Swede.
Just a theory, like many on here. |

That's a different argument from the others "no system" chirp; for you to tangent: the talent pool is failing to execute because they are suited for a different system. |

Back to the bottom 6...
Cannot fix the 4th line without 1st making a legit good 3rd line. The 4th line ideally should be an energy line that isn’t needed to play many minutes. The 3rd line is to offset the top 2 lines when not on. Takes 3 good lines to be the best & beat the best. D is always needed to compete & win a cup. |

No. We are not built like NYI. Besides that is a boring system that doesn’t win cups along with CBJ. Trotz had more talent in Washington that made it work. It only allows a team to compete.
In todays game you have to score & good special teams are a necessity. |

that's a core of the Canuck strategy that failed with player execution and lack of practise.
Also the system isn't NYI/CBJ type. |
