I’ve continuously harped on the need for top RHD & every year say go for Pietrangelo or Hamilton etc. I’ve no problem paying big for a big top 2 RHD of that ilk. An instant fix albeit costly but it can turn around a team instantly. It buys & allows time to draft/develop more D. Aka TB Carolina etc.

Yes. All the efforts should be in getting a legit d. Trade whoever to stack the d.

Sign Hamilton
Trade for Ekblad cause you may be able to pry him away and all of a sudden the de goes from terrible to pretty solid
Bring Hammy back

Hamilton Hamonic Hughes Ekblad Sxhmidt Myers Rathnone.

That is a very solid and dynamic de

Just cause JB is back does not mean Green is safe at all imo, this should be a bubble team and our best player was injured but excuses aside i certainly expected more and would like a more defensive coach. Cant imagine JB is thrilled with this season.

Watching highlights this morning... man MacKinnon is such a beast. Everything he does is with speed, he's so quick.

Also, if that first Edmonton/Winnipeg game is any indication, the North division is going to get eaten alive.

Did you see the hit total for that game? 118 I think the season average is like 35-40 per game...

Lol, no, just the highlights. Didn't notice many hits during them, but it just seemed like the level of play/pace is far lower than most of the other series.

Dirty hit. If the media explores the fact the avs might be done. Aaron rome.

lol but Kadri isn't on a CDN team vying for the cup like Rome was. Buttman will take a pass.

Best in the league even. Problem is how do we afford it all? I doubt Florida ever considers moving Ekblad.

there is no way Bettman gives Kadri a pass on that. We all know that injury has an effect on how long suspensions are for, same with history.

The league doesn't want the look on Faulk's face (after he got hit and was next to being KO'd) to be what the league represents. Kadri will get 2-3 playoff games I think.

*Not that I'm advertising for this* as I don't think it'd be worth it, but it'd probably look something like:

Boeser + this years 1st for Ekblad (have to really entice FLA)
Myers + next year 2nd + prospect to Seattle for taking Myers (have to move cap)

No way we move Boeser and Ekblad is a pipe-dream lol

I heard Hamilton was a big bible guy and pushy in the room (Boston-CGY). Don't think he'd be a good country club fit here.

Like I said, I don't support it, just stating how I think it would have to work. As for the Boeser/Ekblad... that's probably how it would work: two teams trading guys that are right next to untouchable.

we shall see. If the ratio is 1 playoff game = 2 regular season games, I can't see it being less than 2 or 3, just given his history, both in the regular season and playoffs of being suspended. Also, Faulk was out, that was a bad bad hit.

He's been offered "in person" via Zoom... I'm guessing 5 game suspension.

oh really? I hadn't seen that. I am not surprised though. I don't have a problem with the timing of the hit, cause it wasn't late or interference IMO, it was just completely predatory in that he went for chin/face and not body/shoulder.

He's definitely not a big bible guy, and not at all pushy.

Guys love him here. Pretty quiet publicly but does a lot of behind the scenes stuff at local childrens hospitals and likes to do things on the ice to play with the media.

Like when Jack Edwards went on a rant about him wearing a #19 Whalers jersey, which was a number retired by the Whalers, he used tape to change his number in practice to 69.

Something interesting I saw in the story on espn:
According to the collective bargaining agreement, players are considered repeat offenders "for 18 months following his most recent incident that resulted in a suspension." But the 18-month clause only refers to repeat offenders status when factoring in how much money the player loses. All history can be relevant and considered for the purpose of determining suspension length.
I seem to remember one of the reasons for Wilson not receiving a suspension for the Buchnevich thing was that "because he hasn't been suspended in over 18 months, he's not considered a repeat offender". Seems like a double standard to me.

Same here. If he hit his shoulder/chest, that would have been a great hit. Just went straight for the chin. Stupid play.
