Well his exact words were “In order to win in this league not only your top guys have to score but you need depth in your lineup"

Canucks had a good amount of production from their back end so that just leaves the bottom 6 as who he could be talking about.

Should’ve said it to Benning during exit meetings like EP did about his wingers before they acquired Miller. Saying it publicly is a bad look

Hopefully Beagle and Sutter sit him down.

Apparently Brian Burke was on radio in Toronto and said he was offered Canucks President job 2 years ago and turned them down.
- Nucker101

That's actually good news as Burke is so over-rated!

Basically inherited the Ducks cup team (built by Brian Murray) and did fack all in TO and CGY. Thank god he never came back here

But he did get us the Sedins which was a good move.

Patrick Johnston: Perhaps notable as well: the ever-quotable Nate Schmidt didn't appear last night or today.

Good riddance, don’t let the door hit you on the way out, scrub.

He was outplayed by Hughes, Edler, Myers, Hamonic

Both, management did not do enough to improve the team, or keep it the same. Personally, I did not think we would miss Toffoli, boy was I wrong.

Green knew How tough the schedule was going to be, and how little prep work he had. Their training was a joke. Instead of practicing PK and PP during those games, he had them chase the puck carrier on a break away to score. Then we proceed to start the year something like 0-15 on the PP or something like that? Our PK started pretty bad as well if I remember correctly. Our first game we pressured the puck, didn't ive McDavid room and we won. Very next day we shy away from contact, put 0 pressure and got destroyed. That was our season, one game we apply pressure and win, the next we don't and lose. A lot of this seasons failure is on Green(pre-Covid), after Covid we were doomed.

Who cares, he had a hot streak during a shortened season. He’ll go back to his typical 20-25 goals next year, you can get similar production for much cheaper in Hoglander and hopefully Podkolzin. Pearson with top 6 minutes should be good for around 20-ish

Can't see too much action happening in the coming months until after the expansion draft. Unless a serious upgrade is offered to Van. Can't re-sign Hamonic, would then have to protect him and expose someone else.

If they can add a top 4 dman to Myers, Hughes, that would be awesome, Edler probably takes a discount with the Sedins at the negotiating table.

Hughes - New Top 4
Edler - Myers
Rathbone - Hamonic?

Looks better than this year or last year

yah i just dont agree with this sort of "who cares" thing.

He was acquired for a hefty price, a price that mortgaged our future in a good prospect and a 2nd round pick. He was a top 6 talent in LA, he was a top 6 talent in VAN, and hes a top 6 talent in MTL.

He would have fit in seamlessly in our top 6 this year had Benning prioritized him and signed him.

Using "who cares, Hoglander COULD do this next year, Podkolzin COULD do this next year, Pearson in 10 NHL seasons has broken 20+ goals twice, thats leaving a ton of success up to chance.

there is no other way to spin it, other than Benning (or FA for that matter) goofed this up and not signing Toffoli was a huge mistake.

Younger and faster is the NHL trend, Toffoli can’t skate, he’s fine during the regular season but will struggle in the new age playoffs. Hoglander and PodK can fly

you're aware that if Benning ran the cap properly and didn't screw up with so many bad free agent signings, we could have all 3 right? The whole "one or the other" thing is dumb.

He would’ve had the cap if not for the pandemic

Laugh it up all you want. Sutter has been a good solider here for 6 seasons and probably helped Bo transition into becoming a captain. It was a public cheap shot by Bo.

That's the role of the 4th line in todays NHL. People talk about a bottom 6 like it still exists, it doesn't. Every successful team is a top 9 and a 4th line.
