Haters are blind to facts calling them excuses. In a nutshell plenty of blame to go around. Season was doomed:
"Along the way, there was an impossible schedule at the start, a debilitating COVID-19 outbreak, an avalanche of injuries, an even worse schedule at the end, and several other subplots surrounding general manger Jim Benning and what has become a consumer confidence crisis about ownership." - NuckUp
No one is saying the team didn't play poorly at times...but I find it utterly hilarious that the whiners praised Miller's 'leadership' for whining for more days off due to the 'variants' lol then rufuse to acknowledge the 26 day covid break had major impact on the clubs performance. Then as a bonus we lose our leading scorer for over half of the season but as he was injured he was 'overrated' and a 'bust' Love this sh!t...
But hey if Crosby, Mcdavid, OV, Mckinnion, Draisaitl, Matthews etc get hurt for half the season their teams are 'just fine' and then there was a point where Miller was a great 'C' and we were much better off without Petey...
But hey, schedule had nothing to do with it...

I agree. As I said earlier when Milan Lucic out points EP40 it’s not a coaching problem. Sign a few veteran leaders to show the young core the way. Ryan, Levio, Nordstrom, Simon should all be available. - K-man25
lol You can have Marky-Tanev-Leivo thank god we have moved on from that. Only issue now is Edler coming back which I hope not. But the Sedins might have him back for a 1 year deal maybe not so bad if he plays bottom pairing minutes lol
The priority is adding a solid RHD. |

I think most people would say they generally played poorly, and then played good at times. However, them playing good is pretty much the "good" we've seen the last couple years: timely goals and horrible D masked by Vezina goaltending. While goalies are part of a team's success, having that as your team makeup/system/hope is very fragile and not sustainable. Any level of regression or injury to that one player and your team caves.
Yes, the schedule hurt them out of the gates. It was poop. But it's not the reason they suck so much. A better coached, managed, and playered team could have done better. Every team had a compressed schedule this year in some way.

you know that the people who are calling for change are doing so because of the collective 7 years of ineptitude, right? i ask because it seems you don't.
saying that this season is the only reason people are asking for change is wrongheaded (deliberate or not.) and by saying "lucic outscored EP," is as simplistic a view as you can get... as if it was a lack of offense that doomed this season. pointing to simple reasons disregards the underlying issues with this team. even you have acknowledged them. you just don't want to acknowledge them when others are criticizing the team and wanting change.
the "these are just excuses," is another way of saying, "7 years of excuses." sure, this season was a clusterfcuk for a number of reasons but let's not act as if things were just peachy before the covid outbreak.
that's as simplistic a view as saying that the playoffs last year told the whole story without acknowledging the bizarre nature of last season.
i look forward to the excuses next season because they're never ending. that's why i love this place. |

some people like to cling to excuses like life rafts. easier than learning how to swim. |

You're the coach of team whiner, i can't think of any excuses for Green. I think he should've got the axe. As for JB, all ive ever wanted is to build through the draft. I think that's what he's done best at, so im not as dissatisfied that he's sticking around. |

I know it's early in the playoffs, but so far so good, in the pool I am in
Habs in 6
Jets in 6
Carolina in 5
Av's in 5
Vegas in 6
Bruins in 6
Pens in 6
Panthers in 7, might be my only questionable choice. |

aside from the numbers of games and bos/tb, we have similar picks.
i just don't want you to jinx it!
on the plus side, at least it was you and not bloated (the real jinx.) |
