when Lidstrom retired they should of knocked this thing down and started over. but no, they had to try and hang on with an aging datsyuk and zetterberg. if they did that they pain would of started earlier but they would def. be in a better spot right now

Ok, I needed a laugh. I’m watching “dumbest criminals”. Of course, a police officer from Dearborn Heights is featured. He busted someone for pot, then took the pot home, made brownies, and got way too high. They played the 911 call. “I think we’re dead” was said a couple times. And then, near the end of the call, “do you know the score of the Wings game?” The 911 operator actually gave it to him. “It’s 2-2”.

The officer wasn’t charged but did step down. Way to represent Wings Nation!

Yes Chychrun is great, but lets not pretend he was walking into a good situation in Detroit. Airzona has a semi competent team. I hate the we should have draft him or Hughes talk. They would have come to Detroit and skated with the likes of Ericsson, a washed up Kronwall, a mediocre/broken Dekes, or something other pile of garbage.

Do you really think they would have developed nearly the same as they did? They would have been sent to GR and we would have been waiting on what could be. Situations do play a factor and Detroit would have been an absolute dumpster fire for an offensive rookie defensemen to go to, mainly my reason for not wanting Hughes.

First of all, you might be overstating the situation in Arizona. The 2016-17 Coyotes finished 29th in the NHL featuring leading scorer Radim Vrbata. Detroit finished tied for 25th with guys like Zetterberg, Tatar, Nyquist, Vanek showing the way for Larkin, Mantha. So not much better, but not worse as you described. Detroit finished ahead of Arizona the following years as well. Also, who said Chychrun had to play in the NHL that year. If he (or Hughes) was drafted by Detroit, we could bring them along more slowly if we like.

Ahhhh, Michigan LEOs & perps; always a good story. Just like; “Hell no, I didn’t even see the Indians!”

Was in Columbus, GA this past week, saw several Wing’s fans. Lots of excitement about the kids (Bergy, MoSides, etc…) as well as the moves The Captain is making. Concern about Blash, but overall positivity. Kinda cool seeing that in the Deep South!
